1. Leon Bond Leon Bond 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2022 State #62 Nation WI – Wauwatosa East
As a prospect, Bond is capable of exploding over the next year. He’s a little undersized and lacks perimeter skills right now, but the sophomore forward is one of the best athletes in the states, has a blue collar work ethic, and shows plenty of big time flashes. Last season, Bond posted 11.8
[player_tooltip player_id="761404" first="Leon" last="Bond"]points, 5.8 rebounds, and just under two assists per game for a Red Raider squad full of prospects. While he can dominate a game with pure athleticism, Bond certainly doesn’t rest on those laurels.
2. Cade Meyer Cade Meyer 6'8" | PF Monroe | 2021 State #237 Nation WI – Monroe
One of the prospects most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Meyer was one of the biggest stories from last summer, rising up to as high as No. 2 in the state’s 2021 rankings. Now holding scholarship offers from Valparaiso, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, and South Dakota State, Meyer was expected to start playing for high major offers this spring. A bouncy, 6-foot-8 forward who can shoot it from deep, Meyer averaged 18.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last season.
3. Logan Landers Logan Landers 6'9" | PF Cedarburg | 2021 State WI – Cedarburg
The fastest-rising prospect in the state right now, Landers has ripped off scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Missouri, TCU, and Houston. Playing on a loaded Brookfield Academy squad last season, Landers posted 18.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. A tenacious post prospect that can beat defenders with skill, finesse, or power, Landers has a chance to play his way into the top five of the overall class of 2021 rankings with a consistent summer.
4. Maximus Nelson Maximus Nelson 6'7" | PF Appleton North | 2022 State #236 Nation WI – Appleton North
A prospect that will probably start landing mid-major offers in the near future, Nelson is coming off a breakout sophomore season. The sweet-shooting big man averaged 16.4 points per game in the Fox Valley Association. Nelson is a terrific catch-and-shoot big man who’s also starting to expand his game as a face-up forward who can slash or shoot from mid-range. At 6-foot-8 with some perimeter skills, Nelson has a chance to develop into a high major prospect down the road.
5. Donovan Short Donovan Short 6'9" | PF Denmark | 2022 State WI – Denmark
Short averaged 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore. The 6-foot-8 forward can score inside and out. A consistent 3-point shooter who can also bang inside and play through contact, Short possesses solid post footwork, the ability to handle the rock and create from the perimeter, and the ability to run the floor and get out ahead in transition.
6. Grant Asman Grant Asman 6'11" | PF Kimberly | 2021 State WI – Kimberly
A kid that should be an easy offer for most Division 2 schools and perhaps a fringe Division 1 prospect as well, Asman is still one of the best kept secrets in the state. Asman averaged 9.5 points per game on a loaded Kimberly squad and should take a big step forward as a senior. A skilled and lanky post prospect, Asman has some budding versatility, particularly on the defensive end where he’s comfortable switching one through five. Heading into the summer, Asman holds an offer from Michigan Tech.
[player_tooltip player_id="701973" first="Grant" last="Asman"]7. Andrew Keller Andrew Keller 6'5" | PF Waunakee | 2022 State WI – Waunakee
A breakout performer last season, Keller averaged nearly 13 points per game for a very balanced Waunakee club. A plus-length forward who can handle the ball, create from the perimeter, shoot it from deep, and play with his back to the basket, Keller caused a lot of problems for opponents last season. Also a standout wide receiver/tight end in football, the 6-foot-6 forward has some intriguing athleticism and toughness on the hardwood as well.
8. Carter Capstran Carter Capstran 6'6" | PF Franklin | 2021 State WI – Franklin
Capstran nearly averaged a double-double last season at 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. A physical, yet athletic forward, Capstran is a much-improved shooter and plays a lot bigger than his 6-foot-6 frame. Someone that takes pride in owning the glass, Capstran is very fundamentally sound around the rim. He plays well with his back to the basket or as a catch-and-shoot presence beyond the arc. Capstran also handles double teams very well, sees the floor, and can kick out to open shooters.
