The good news is, the recent shutdown has provided ample opportunity for me to discover talented players during hours of dedicated film study, because of this I expect these to be the most detailed and accurate rankings to date. In this article, PH takes a look at some players that will be making their first appearances in the c/o 2022 rankings.
Malakai Christian Malakai Christian 6'4" | PF Sierra Vista | 2022 State NV 6’4 PF Douglass – Smalley has a good combination of size and skill. He is a power player that does the majority of his damage around the basket. He averaged over 7 per game last season for the Tigers.
Christian Martin Christian Martin 6'2" | SG Sierra Vista | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Sierra Vista – Martin is a slasher that plays the game with an extremely high motor. He is a good iso player that has the ability to finish at the basket. Martin is a lean, fluid athlete with a good first step. I expect him to be a contributor next season for SV.
Isaiah Dahl Isaiah Dahl 6'4" | SG Elko | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Elko (featured image) – I was fortunate to see quite a bit of Dahl during Elko’s state title run. He is a specialist, however, he has terrific size for his skill set. Human heat check guy capable of going off. Dahl had games of 25 and 26 this year.
Enrique Villalobos Enrique Villalobos 6'3" | C McDermitt | 2022 State NV 6’3 SF Palo Verde – Rhambo is a guy that is gaining major street cred. He bided his time last season for the Northwest Conference co-champs. A big-time run and jump athlete that can defend multiple positions, I truly believe he would have shined brightly during the grassroots season, never the less he will be making his first appearance in the rankings.
Terrell Palmer Terrell Palmer 6'0" | SG Durango | 2022 NV 6’0 SG Durango – I got a good look at Palmer last fall during the WODE camp. He is a slasher, driver that can score the ball from the 2 guard position. Durango is absolutely loaded in the backcourt so he may get caught in a numbers crunch next season, however, he certainly is deserving of being on the list.
Trennon Brown Trennon Brown 5'5" | PG Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 5’5 PG Canyon Springs – Brown played quality varsity minutes last season for the Pioneers. Good quick ballhandler that can be used as a tempo changing guard. Brown’s play during last summer and this winter, justify his place in the rankings.
