These rankings take into account among other things, players’ production from the 2019-20 season, as well as any camps, tournaments, or events taking place before the cancelation of the grassroots Spring season. In this article, PH takes a look at the top Power Forwards making an appearance in the c/o 202 rankings.
Jaden Westwood Jaden Westwood 6'1" | CG Piute | 2022 UT 6’9 Coronado (#2) – Kohler is a big powerful post player that excels at clogging the lane and protecting the rim. He is extremely skilled on the offensive end with the ability to play with his back to the basket, and create for teammates from the post.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’6 Liberty (#3) (featured image) – Like Kohler, Jefferson is a skilled back to the basket post player, however, he has displayed more ability to step outside and show off his perimeter skills. Jefferson has range out to the college 3, and can sprint the floor catch and finish at a high level.
Michael Klekas Michael Klekas 6'3" | SF Elko | 2022 State NV 6’3 Elko (#9) – Certainly more of a combo forward, however his post-game warrants him being labeled as a 4. Klekas has great touch around the rim with both hands and is an excellent position rebounder. As should be expected, he is easily able to step out and play a point forward position, knocking down 3’s and making plays for teammates.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 Bonanza (#11) – Johnson is one of the athletes featured in my top R&J athlete’s article. He gets most of his buckets in transition and by driving to the rim. Johnson has a quick second jump and excels at competing for out of area rebounds.Â
Aaron Price Aaron Price 6'7" | PF Liberty | 2022 State NV 6’5 Liberty (#14) – Price is another terrific run and jump athlete in the class. While he is raw offensively, he makes up for it with effort and athleticism. Similar to Johnson, Price gets his in transition and off offensive putbacks.
Jalen Foy Jalen Foy 6'5" | SF Canyon Springs | 2022 State NV 6’5 Canyon Springs (#20) – Foy is one of the better stretch 4’s in the state. He is a pick and pop specialist that does the majority of his damage from behind the line. What Foy lacks in athleticism, he makes up for with effort and fundamentals in the rebounding department.
Sargent Jeffery Sargent Jeffery 6'5" | PF Desert Valley Prep | 2022 State NV 6’5 Coronado (#21) – Jeffery is a tweener that spends time at the 3 and 4. Offensively his skills are more suited for the 4, as he gets his mostly off putbacks and in transition. Defensively he is agile enough to defend wings, as well as strong enough to bang with other 4’s.
Corbin Dagons Corbin Dagons 6'5" | PF Legacy | 2022 State NV 6’5 Legacy (#23) – Dagons is a player that caught my attention the first time I laid eyes on him. He is a tall, well built 4 man, who loves to step outside and shoot the 3. In fact, the majority of Dagons game is floor spacing and outside shooting, however he is able to do this at an elite level.
