Sean Jones Sean Jones 5'10" | PG Gahanna | 2022 State #102 Nation OH (Gahanna High School): Jones is the 5th ranked junior-to-be in Ohio, but he’s my favorite to watch. I also think he might have the most potential long term. The 5’10 point guard has a great handle, is exceptionally smooth in the open court, can finish with both hands, and sees the floor really well. He is also a consistent shooter on the catch. Jones has earned offers from Cleveland State, Houston, Mississippi State, Toledo, Wichita State, and others.
Paul McMillan IV Paul McMillan IV 6'2" | PG Woodward | 2022 State #229 Nation OH (Cincinnati Woodward High School): McMillan is the prototypical old school point guard. He consistently makes the right passes and rarely turns the ball over. The 6’1 point guard also has an elite floater and can dribble through traffic with either hand. He might need to improve his lateral quickness but McMillan is one of the best point guards in his class. He has offers from Cincinnati, Dayton, Ole Miss, Tennessee-Martin, and Xavier.
Sonny Johnson Jr. Sonny Johnson Jr. 5'10" | PG Garfield Heights | 2022 State OH (Garfield Heights High School): Johnson is the lowest ranked player on this list (#11) but he has a chance to be one of the two or three best in my opinion. The 5’10 point guard committed to Penn State earlier this year, turning down offers from Kent State, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Youngstown State. He will fit in with Penn State’s guard-oriented offense. Johnson reminds me a lot of Tyler Ulis because of his deep range, high basketball IQ, and tight handle.
DJ Moore DJ Moore 6'3" | PG Worthington Christian | 2021 State OH (Worthington Christian High School): Moore is a 6’3 point guard who plays AAU with Indy Heat. He is ranked #8 in the state and has a chance to be one of the top guards from the 2022 recruiting class. The first thing that jumps out about Moore is his length. He is a really good perimeter defender and gets a lot of steals because of his long arms. On offense, he seeks contact and has a consistent mid-range jumper. Moore has offers from Miami (OH) and Ohio University.
Sencire Harris Sencire Harris 6'4" | PG St. Vincent-St. Mary | 2022 State #79 Nation OH (St. Vincent-St. Mary High School): Harris is three spots behind McMillan at #4 in the 2022 class. The lefty point guard is an immensely athletic point guard who can go coast to coast in the blink of an eye. He is difficult to stop in transition as he can get to the rim and finish with both hands, or find open teammates on the wing. The 6’3 point guard is also an underrated defender, who picks up a lot of blocks and steals.
