This is going to be a major hit as it will once again help bridge the gap between prospects and college coaches. I previously highlighted four players in the 2021 class who now have videos attached to their profile and that article can be viewed here. Next up is the class of 2022 as we continue to add videos to player’s profiles. The great thing about this feature is prospects of all college levels can have videos embedded into their profile! Click on a player’s profile to check out the new feature.
Prospect: Cooper Church Cooper Church 6'10" | PF Tahoma | 2022 State WA
HS: Tahoma
Club: FOH Seattle
Height/Position: 6’9 – Center
Video Linked to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9FIA42epC0
Analysis: The very first thing that stands out in the video is his ability to run the floor and how hard he runs the floor. There is a sense of urgency that you love to see from big men and he finishes above the rim with ferocity. The pull-up jumper is there and he is comfortable off the bounce or attacking out of the triple threat. He has length and jumping ability, but his timing blocking shots is most impressive. Church currently holds an offer from Eastern Washington with interest from Saint Mary’s, San Jose State, San Diego, Pepperdine and Boise State.
Prospect: Koren Johnson Koren Johnson 6'3" | SG Wasatch Academy | 2022 #83 Nation WA
HS: Garfield
Club: Seattle Rotary
Height/Position” 6’2 – Combo Guard
Video Linked to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-lqULLt0Ds
Analysis: A strong guard with a good handle to get to his spots on the court. He has the craftiness to finish over length with either hand, jumping off either foot. The Garfield standout has a good midrange game and can shoot over some smaller guards with good accuracy. Below the rim finisher that uses strength, skill and IQ to create shots for himself and others as well. Currently holds offers from Washington, Montana and San Diego.
Prospect: Tayshawn Colvin Tayshawn Colvin 6'0" | PG Liberty | 2022 State WA
HS: Liberty (Spangle)
Club: Eastern Washington Elite
Height/Position: 6’0 – Point Guard
Video Linked to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-gfUFpqYAg
Analysis: Colvin’s video is great to start with, because it shows him making plays in high pressure situations with the game on the line. One thing that’s for sure is at the end of games, he wants the ball in his hands and he is not scared of the big moment. The 6’0 point guard plays low to the ground, possesses a tight handle and he is crafty off the bounce. He shows an array of finishes around the basket and he has an excellent floater. Defenders seem to have a difficult time stopping the 2b All-State player from getting to his spots on the floor. Lastly, he has a solid midrange jumper to diversify his attack. A true college prospect with the exact level to be determined. *Feature image
Prospect: Logan Stempniak Logan Stempniak 6'6" | PF Kentwood | 2022 State WA
HS: Kentwood
Club:
Height/Position: 6’6 – PF
Video Linked to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11220409/5e94cffb1600f60fa4400350
Analysis: Wiry-strong lefty that is really comfortable playing inside of 17 feet where he operates well from the high post, short corner and the block. Capable of stepping out and hitting the three point shot as well. Fights hard for rebounds, scores on put backs and has a soft touch finishing around the basket. As he continues to expand on his all around game, inside and out, Stempniak is a player for some colleges to be aware of.
