1. Does Desmond Green Desmond Green 6'9" | C Silverado | 2021 State NV ’s Potential exceed his Production?- The 6’9 Green is one of the more intriguing prospects in the class. In a state desperately looking for size and length, he posses both. He didn’t play a ton of minutes for the Skyhawks, but he managed to impact the game whenever he was on the floor. Although he lacks the numbers, does his potential allow him to leap some other players with more production?
2. The great football debate? – Both Matt Morton Matt Morton 6'5" | SF Boulder City | 2021 NV and Fernando Carmona Fernando Carmona 6'5" | C Las Vegas | 2021 State NV are top tier basketball players, however, they will more than likely play football at the next level. The similarities don’t stop there as they were ranked within 3 spots of each other in the last rankings and put together extremely productive seasons, 10 and 8 for Carmona and 15 and 8 for Morton.
3. Can I please see Chancelor Johnson Chancelor Johnson 6'3" | SG Desert Pines | 2020 GA play in a game? – No clue how good Chancellor Johnson is anymore. I remember him playing for the LV Knicks last summer, and I’ve watched him practice, and in pick up games. He passes the eye test, a 6’3-6’4 lean, strong, shooter, and when he was on the court he produced, averaging over 16 per game as a sophomore for DPAC. The key is figuring out where he fits among the other top players.
4. Cort Ballinger Cort Ballinger 5'10" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2021 State NV vs Isaac Wood Isaac Wood 6'2" | PG Galena | 2021 State NV – I’ve actually been analyzing this matchup for a while. Ballinger gives you hard-nosed defense every night, while Woods is a maestro with the ball that can knock down shots from long range. They are very close, I just have to figure out who gets the edge between the top two PG’s in Northern Nevada.
5. How to separate the group of 5? – To give you an example of how deep this class is, there are 5 players Jan Madi Ngock Jan Madi Ngock 6'6" | PF Trinity | 2021 State NV , Frank Bartley Frank Bartley 6'0" | PG Spring Valley | 2021 State NV , Kobe Stroughter Kobe Stroughter 6'1" | PG Nevada Prep | 2021 State NV , Drake Booker Drake Booker 6'2" | PG Foothills | 2021 State NV , and Lorenzo Abellar Lorenzo Abellar 5'8" | PG Liberty | 2021 State NV , who will be studs next year for their current schools. In any other year, they would probably be in the top 10. I have to factor JMN’s, size, potential, and production on a tough Grind session schedule. Frank Bartley Frank Bartley 6'0" | PG Spring Valley | 2021 State NV ’s ability to be an explosive game-changing point guard, while playing the toughest position in sports during football season. Kobe Stroughter Kobe Stroughter 6'1" | PG Nevada Prep | 2021 State NV s shooting ability, Drake Booker Drake Booker 6'2" | PG Foothills | 2021 State NV ’s explosive athleticism vs Abellar’s pit bull mentality.
