Nevada Player Ranking: C/O 2022 R&J Athletes
The Spring story of the Nevada 2022 rankings is athletes. From top to bottom this is the most athletic class with some of the most exciting players in the state. Ironically, none of the top guys fit that description as most of them excel on the ground. There are others, however, that will certainly open some eyes, with their speed, leaping, and explosion. With over 60 players ranked, this is perhaps the most comprehensive player rankings in the state. In this article, PH takes a look at some of the top Run and Jump athletes in the c/o 2022.
Shane Thomas Shane Thomas 6'3" | SG Durango | 2022 State NV 6’3 SF Centennial (#6) – Saw this kid catch a pass on the left baseline and float to the rim during the WODE A.S game. This singular play highlighted not only his vertical, but also his explosiveness. I would call him a sneaky athlete, but his attacks on the rim have become commonplace recently.
Donavon Webster Donavon Webster 6'4" | SG Cheyenne | 2022 State NV 6’4 SG Cheyenne (featured image) (#8) – I really like Webster when he is in the open floor. He’s fast and can get off the ground in a hurry. Webster has the ball skills to go by larger players, and the hops to rise up over short quick guards.
Dontrell Johnson Dontrell Johnson 6'5" | SF Trinity | 2022 State NV 6’5 PF Bonanza (#11) – Johnson is really an undersized power forward, however, because of his speed and athleticism it’s usually a mismatch for him. He’s built like a leaper, with lean muscle and a fluid running style. He’s able to go get out of area rebounds, as well as catch and finish lobs.
Sylis Gray Sylis Gray 6'3" | SG Bonanza | 2022 State NV 6’3 SG Clark (#13) – I struggled to rank Gray, as his skill and potential could warrant him being higher. He’s fast and a good leaper off one foot, which allows him to finish quickly in transition.
Aaron Price Aaron Price 6'7" | PF Liberty | 2022 State NV 6’5 PF Liberty (#14) – One of the players, I’m excited to see play when grassroots return. He’s a big-time leaper, that can get off the ground quickly with both his first and second jumps. Price has all the dunks and may be the best at translating his athleticism to his game
Edward Rhambo Edward Rhambo 6'3" | SF Palo Verde | 2022 NV 6’3 SF Palo Verde (#34) – Rhambo is a freak of nature, that is more athlete than player at this stage of his career. His physical gifts can’t be ignored, Rhambo is a two-sport athlete who runs a 4.8 40 and squats nearly 300lb’s.
