The talent level continues to increase, making games much more competitive. All season long, many individuals proved that they can play against great talent. Many athletes take pride in getting better and the hard work has definitely paid off.
Anthony Ruano (El Dorado Adventist) – The 5foot-9 junior has made astronomical jumps in his game. A player who improved in all characteristics and slowly growing into a better leader. Ruano only ran the show for the Eagles. Although they had a difficult outing, the Eagles standout displayed great potential, scoring 20.1 points, dishing out 1.6 assists, snatching 4.6 rebounds to go with 2.3 steals.
Kawika Makua (Rio Vista) – Makua is a high IQ guard. The 6-foot-1 junior can really fill up the stat sheet. A player who just loves to compete all game long. Makua ended his junior campaign with 19.9 points, 5.1 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks. Makua plays with a great tempo and has great instincts on both ends of the court. He may not be very flashy, but he can definitely play.
Sam Bosque (Sacramento Waldorf) – After only averaging 6 points, 1 assist and 2 rebounds as a sophomore, Bosque took his game to another level during his junior season scoring 21 points to go with nearly 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. The 5-foot-10 junior is an instrumental player for the Waves and will continue to be next season.
Tim Barber (Stockton Christian) – Barber is a shifty guard who is very crafty with his finishes around the rim. A guard who is an extremely tough to defend when he puts the ball on the floor, giving his options to score for himself or find the open teammate. Barber helped the Eagles to a 28 and 3 overall record and has shown capabilities of becoming a triple-double threat, scoring nearly 10 points, 5 assist, 6 rebounds ad 3 steals per contest.
Cole Ford (Ponderosa) – Ford is a hard-nosed guard who is slowly growing and embracing that leadership role for the Bruins. A true floor general who has great court vision and also has the ability to creating shot for others. A quick guard who loves to put the ball on the court. Ford is your hustle guy and junkyard type player.
