Brian Johansson (2021) | Hunterdon Central
Johansson took over during his junior year as the top option for Hunterdon Central. They were a team full of players that could light it up from deep and Johansson led the charge with 30 three’s. He was also the team’s leading rebounder and second in assists. Johansson will look to his senior season and see big things ahead.
Justin Vernieri (2022) | Voorhees
Voorhees is a guard heavy team but they will be losing some of their top options for next season. This means Vernieri will have to step up even further. He was an impact player as a sophomore with 20 three’s and 10 points per game. These are numbers that will jump up quickly as he becomes an upperclassman.
Tanner McCaffrey (2023) | South Hunterdon
McCaffrey is a dark-horse player for 2020-2021. He showed up to South Hunterdon and made a strong impression in his first season. McCaffrey posed a big threat from deep and that is where he did most of his work. He is a player with a high ceiling and that will begin to come out as his career progresses.
Charles Gillikin (2021) | Hunterdon Central
Gillikin is another member of Hunterdon Central, with Johansson, that can get hot from deep and carry an offense. He knocked down 34 three’s this season and was a headache on the perimeter. Gillikin moves well without the ball and knows how to come off screens and get open. Gillikin will return for one more year looking to carry Hunterdon Central to the top.
Sal Mauro (2021) | Delaware Valley
Delaware Valley will have Mauro back as their No. 1 option next season. He was a marksman from deep and could get into the lane and score. Mauro showed an ability from all three levels that is difficult to stop when he gets going.
