ND Attack has been one of the top grassroots programs in North Dakota and there are two teams at the 17U level this year.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Payton Martin, Jayden Hocker, Peyton Zaun, Jonah Ringstad, Seth Robinson, Drew Zaun
Peyton Zaun was excellent for ND Attack last summer and while he struggled with efficiency as a junior, a lot of that has to do with the amount of offensive responsibility he was tasked with. He’s a very good 3-point shooter and an improving playmaker who has the length and athleticism to defend at a quality level.
Ringstad’s an undersized point guard who does a good job getting into the paint and making plays for his teammates. He’s slippery with the ball and a natural facilitator.
Robinson is a well-balanced player who can score a little bit, make plays and defend up and down a lineup.
Drew Zaun started and averaged right around seven points per game for Valley City last season. He shot a solid clip from the 3-point line on limited attempts.
Hocker was a key piece for Dickinson last season, knocking down 36 percent of his 3-pointers on a high volume. He’s got good size on the wing and can create in complementary fashion.
Payton Martin is one of the most explosive scorers in Class B and will have an opportunity to put up serious points. He’s a terrific long-range shooter who can get hot in a hurry. He’s got good size on the wing as well.
Forwards: Chayse Entzi, Kyle Brilz, Seth Gangl
Entzi is the lone true big on the team and at 6-foot-6, he’s got the size and frame to hold down the paint. He’ll have plenty of opportunity to match up with high-end opposing bigs on a frequent basis – which would be beneficial to his development. Entzi is a skilled big who can score inside and out, with the mobility to put stress on bigger, slower guys.
Brilz and Gangl are both wings with solid size who will likely end up tasked with defending bigger guys on a regular basis. Brilz was a rotation piece for Dickinson as a junior and showed he can shoot it a little bit, get to the rim and defend.
