We reached out to multiple coaches across the state to accumulate this list and some coaches did not respond. Either way players play themselves up and down the rankings with time and games under their belt. It is difficult to cover an entire state as most underclassmen get most of their minutes playing in lower level games. Players that were missed will be added in time. This is just a starting point and not an end all.
#1 Trey Evans Trey Evans 6'5" | PG RSL Academy | 2023 State UT (Wasatch Academy)
While Trey is not racking up major minutes on his team and he isn’t scoring an absurd amount of points as a freshman, Trey can play. Next season Trey will be able to accumulate more experience which will enable him to be more productive on the floor. Playing for one of the best basketball programs in the country has it’s pros and it’s share of sacrifices. Trey can handle the ball at the point guard position and he can shoot with the best of them as a shooting guard. In time as he grows he will be a viable 3 guard as well. Currently 6’3 Trey has a lot of potential to increase his stock because of his work ethic and willingness to compete.
#2 Lyman Simmons Lyman Simmons 6'10" | PF RSL Academy | 2023 State UT (Snow Canyon)
At 6’7 and already built with some raw skill Lyman has some major upside. He is strong and skilled inside. He holds his own against everyone. While still young he has a mature game. 13 points and 8 rebounds a game against solid teams across the board. With more tools being added to his game he will be a double-double player in no time. Look for Lyman to more aggressive and assertive next season as his confidence continues to improve. He is starting to develop some outside range and being more consistent in the mid-range.
#3 Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'3" | PG Link Academy | 2023 #132 Nation MO (Pleasant Grove)
While playing on a team that was full of young talent across the board we were able to see how good Jordan is and will be. Jordan doesn’t rely on the three-point shot but can certainly light it up from the outside. With Division 1 offers on the table already Jordan looks to continue to develop his game. He rebounds well and sees the court with elite vision.
