Gannon Brady (2021) | Ocean City
Brady had a big junior year. He emerged as a star that could put the ball in the basket at a high rate. He scored 462 points and averaged 22.5 per game. Brady knocked down 30 three’s and was strong on the defensive end. He is a guard that can play multiple positions. His game is versatile on both ends. He has quick hands which allows him to get in the passing lane. Brady knows how to use his speed in the open floor with or without the ball. He will be one of the top returning players in the county.
Seamus Fynes (2021) | Wildwood
Fynes can play on the perimeter or move down low if need be. He is listed as a small forward but plays some shooting guard. Either way, Fynes can score the ball from anywhere on the floor. He is a talented shooter and is strong going to the basket. Fynes can rebound effectively on the offensive end and score using his soft touch on put backs.
Tom Finnegan (2022) | Ocean City
Finnegan was second on the team in scoring, free throws made, and three’s made as a sophomore. He trailed just Brady in all categories and Ocean City will have both players back looking to build on a 17 win season. Finnegan showed skill from all over the floor. He was always ready to shoot in the half court. He ran the floor well and was an effective rebounder from the guard position.
Gavin Aftanis (2022) | Middle Township
Aftanis has a chance to be one of the top dark-horse players in the county. Middle Township is losing some scoring and they have Charlie McNeal III and Jeremiah Camacho returning. Aftanis will be a junior next season so this leaves him in a position to take a big step up in the scoring column.
DaSean Lopez (2021) | Wildwood Catholic
Lopez is an intriguing name to remember as the year goes on. Wildwood Catholic is losing two Division I players in Taj Thweatt Taj Thweatt 6'7" | PF Wildwood Catholic | 2020 State #180 Nation NJ and Jahlil White Jahlil White 6'6" | SG Wildwood Catholic | 2020 State #258 Nation NJ . This is a lot to make up for. Lopez showed some promise as a junior but did not get the time needed to excel. He will have the chance this season as Wildwood Catholic graduates eight players from their 24-7 team this season.
