Here is the Austin Rankings Series: 2021 Guards #11-15:
#11 – Tristan Schlinke | 5-9 PG | Blanco
Schlinke is an elite scoring weapon from the point guard position who has the ability to create his own shot at any level of the half-court. During his junior season at Blanco, he averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 steals over 37 games played. Schlinke can score in a variety of ways but specializes in his three-point shot, where he can hit from anywhere beyond-the-arc. Has very good court vision and passing ability. His best offensive performance came in the third round of the playoffs where he put up 33 points against a very impressive San Antonio Cole team. Earned TABC 3A Region 4 All-Region Team.
#12 – Augustine Arroyo | 5-7 PG | Manor
Arroyo was an explosive playmaker for the Mustangs last season as he made a big impact on both offense and defense. With great ball skills, Arroyo is able to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. He also provides a boost in scoring as a great spot-up shooter, with a quick release, from beyond-the-arc. Defensively he is able to create turnovers on tipped passes and steals due to his quickness and anticipation. Not afraid to go get a rebound as he had multiple games of 5+ boards. Earned All-District 18-5A First Team.
#13 – Steven Schultz | 6-3 PG | Regents School of Austin
A big-bodied point guard who plays with a calm and collected demeanor, Schultz was able to weave his way in and out of defenses this past season for the Knights. With great ball-handling skills, he was able to create shots for himself whether it was in the mid-range or from deep. He possesses a good pull-up shot and floater from the mid-range, all while being able to swish it from three-point range off a pick-and-roll. He has a high basketball IQ and constantly found open teammates with his court vision. Earned TAAPS 5A All-State Second Team.
#14 – Ke’Shawn Williams | 6-2 SG | Pflugerville Hendrickson
Williams is expected to jump into a larger role for Hendrickson this upcoming season after excelling as their sixth man during his junior year. A tall and long guard, Williams shows off his athleticism with several dunks in his highlight tapes. He has great shooting range and can be a slasher in the lane. He is a good drive-and-dish passer and possesses a great jump stop near the basket. Averaged 15 points per game in the playoffs, shot 80% from the free-throw line on the season, and had 35 total steals. Earned All-District 13-6A Honorable Mention.
#15 – Aaron Bizzell | 6-4 SG | Georgetown
A dual-sport athlete, Bizzell plays with great physicality and it shows up on the defensive side of the court. His highlights show his shot-blocking ability both near the paint and out on the wing as he closes quickly on three-point shooters. Has a good understanding of floor spacing and movement on offense without the ball. When the ball is in his hands he backs down defenders with his strength and gets most of his damage done in the paint. Earned All-District 18-5A First Team.
