We will look at the point guards in Ann Arbor in the class of 2021. The schools we included are the following: Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Ann Arbor Greenhills, Ann Arbor Huron, Ann Arbor Pioneer, and Ann Arbor Skyline. We’ll rank the top 6 floor generals in the city.
SIX
Mitchell Foley (PG, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard)
Foley is one of the most consistent scorers returning next season for Gabriel Richard. He seems primed for an excellent senior season. Foley plays well with the ball in his hands, letting his teammates work off of him.
FIVE
Sergio Bennett (PG, Ann Arbor Huron)
Bennett uses his height to his advantage. He plays through and around bigger defenders and uses the angles that are available to him. Bennett has quick feet and good lateral movement on both ends.
FOUR
Jermaine Davis (PG, Ann Arbor Skyline)
Davis is quick and athletic, with nice start-stop speed. He can play at any speed, providing Skyline with a good change of pace player. Davis can lock in on the defensive side of the ball as well.
THREE
Aidan Lee (CG, Ann Arbor Pioneer)
Lee can effectively play on or off the ball, but I see him with it in his hands more next season. He’s an underrated shooter that really likes to find his groove. Lee is smart with the ball and makes efficient passes to the post.
TWO
Chris Cayton Chris Cayton 5'11" | PG Ann Arbor Skyline | 2021 State MI (PG, Ann Arbor Skyline)
Cayton has been perpetually underranked over the course of his high school career. Next season, the team will be his, and his leadership skills will be shown. Cayton is a good ball handler and uses his strength to finish at the rim through bigger defenders.
ONE
Devin Womack Devin Womack 6'2" | CG Ann Arbor Huron | 2021 State MI (CG, Ann Arbor Huron)
Womack is an elite prospect statewide. He has the look of a D1 college player. As a sophomore, he took on the challenge of being Huron’s floor general and primary ball handler after playing at the 2 as a freshman. Womack has come a long way in his development at the position. At the end of last season, there was a clear comfort level that he had hit. Womack had improved as a passer and ball handler. He did a nice job initiating the offense and then playing off of it. He attacked the rim and showed a nice reverse finish through contact. Next season, he will be the clear cut #1 floor general in Ann Arbor.
