Woody Machado (Oldsmar Christian)
On a youthful Oldmsar Christian squad, 6’3″ guard Woody Machado was the lone freshman starter in the entire SIAA. Playing with poise, vocalness and leadership, he averaged 8.0 PPG, 2.0 RPG and 2.0 APG and proved to be shifty as a lead ballhandling guard. Driving is Machado’s top asset but he is also a sound mid-range shooter and his IQ is very evident. He plays with endless energy and is packed with upside. Don’t be shocked to see Machado take a huge sophomore leap.

At Ormond Beach Calvary Christian, 5’8″ guard Karl Knighten Jr Karl Knighten Jr 5'11" | PG Flagler Palm Coast | 2023 FL stuck out all season long for the Class 2A program. He averaged 22.5 PPG, 6.1 APG and 3.8 RPG. Knighten is a sharpshooter who is built to run an offense. As long as he adds muscle and continues to be aggressive, his numbers and progress will continue upward. He’s a playmaker in the Daytona area.
Iverson Yacinthe Iverson Yacinthe 6'3" | PF Somerset Academy | 2023 FL (Somerset Academy)
Over at Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines, 6’3″ forward Iverson Yacinthe Iverson Yacinthe 6'3" | PF Somerset Academy | 2023 FL had some very strong performances as a freshman. He reached the double-digit mark three times on the season, led by a 14-point outing against Franklin Academy. He also had a 10-point game against Schoolhouse Prep in mid-January. Yacinthe hauls in rebounds at a high clip and mixes it up inside as an attacker. Look for him to earn more run this fall.
Jahmari Johnson Jahmari Johnson 6'1" | SG Port Charlotte | 2023 FL (Port Charlotte)
Port Charlotte is always a contender in Southwest Florida. With a slew of juniors in place, some younger players are also in line for more action. 6’1″ guard Jahmari Johnson Jahmari Johnson 6'1" | SG Port Charlotte | 2023 FL is one of those prospects. He’s a highly athletic guard with a ton of burst and upside. He will need to get stronger but after getting a little taste of varsity as a freshman, he should mature plenty this season.
Jaylen Smith Jaylen Smith 5'11" | PG Edgewater | 2023 State FL (Windermere Prep)
On a deep and youthful Windermere Prep team, a 5’9″ guard Jaylen Smith Jaylen Smith 5'11" | PG Edgewater | 2023 State FL has all the tools to be a real threat as a sophomore, He flashed promise as a long-range shooter which was highlighted by a season-best 11 point game in the opening matchup against Episcopal as he sunk 3-of-4 shots from deep. Smith averaged 3.9 PPG off the bench but is someone to monitor as we move forward.
Hykeem Williams Hykeem Williams 6'4" | PF Stranahan | 2023 FL (Stranahan)
Appearing in four games as a freshman, 6’4″ forward/center Hykeem Williams Hykeem Williams 6'4" | PF Stranahan | 2023 FL showed promise in his limited time on the floor. He was also part of the football team playing sparingly. A true athlete, he’s a long body who is filled with potential. With Stranahan graduating a large senior class, Williams has a chance to carve out a big role.
