CJ Lee CJ Lee 6'2" | CG Clearwater | 2022 State FL and AJ Wright AJ Wright 5'10" | CG Speights Academy | 2022 State FL (Clearwater)
Clearwater’s offense ran through 2020 guard Max Jones Max Jones 6'3" | CG Clearwater | 2020 State FL but 2022 pair CJ Lee CJ Lee 6'2" | CG Clearwater | 2022 State FL and AJ Wright AJ Wright 5'10" | CG Speights Academy | 2022 State FL proved to be very reliable for the Tornadoes as they made a Class 5A region final appearance. Lee, a 6’1″ guard averaged 12.8 PPG (second-best mark on the team) along with 6.1 RPG and 2.5 SPG. He posted 19 games in double figures including an awesome stretch that spanned 13 games (16.8 PPG, 62 percent shooting and a season-best 27 points against Southeast on Jan. 22 with five 20 plus point games). Wright, a 5’11” guard was scrappy all year long averaging 5.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG and 2.9 SPG. He had six games with double digits and had a lesser role but this fall, he will be a true 1B to Lee’s 1A. These two are ready to shine in Pinellas County.
Jesus Rivas Jesus Rivas 6'9" | PF Brito | 2022 State FL (Brito)
Holding an offer from Stetson currently, the 6’8″ Jesus Rivas Jesus Rivas 6'9" | PF Brito | 2022 State FL is a player who projects as a true workhorse center. This past season, he broke out of his shell after transferring from Schoolhouse Prep to Brito. Rivas averaged 17.9 PPG. 10.9 RPG and 3.9 BPG with 10 games posting 20 or more points and two 32-point outings. The end of the season was very kind to him as he averaged just over 23 PPG over the last 11 games of his sophomore campaign. With 15 double doubles, Rivas proved he is a playmaker all year long.
Jay White Jay White 6'1" | PG Southwest Florida Christian | 2022 State FL (Southwest Florida Christian)
Down in Fort Myers, 6’1″ guard Jay White Jay White 6'1" | PG Southwest Florida Christian | 2022 State FL entered the scene as a sophomore, averaging 17.5 PPG for Southwest Florida Christian. He reached double figures in all but one game and had nine matchups with 20 or more points including a season-best 26 points against Monsignor Pace. The shooting touch of White is impressive and his ability to weave to the rim stands out. With added muscle and more aggressiveness, he will be solid as can be this fall.
Uchenna Kellman Uchenna Kellman 6'4" | CG Sanford Seminole | 2022 State FL (Lyman)
At 6’3″, combo guard Uchenna Kellman Uchenna Kellman 6'4" | CG Sanford Seminole | 2022 State FL is a player who is just scratching the surface at Lyman. As a pure outside shooter, he is special and his ballhandling and transition defense are as solid as they come. When watching Kellman, he always seems to get in front of passes much like a defensive back in football as he generates turnovers and looks to score at the glass on the other end. A big fall is in the works for the rising junior. (Sophomore highlights)
Mark Cueto Mark Cueto 6'3" | CG Benjamin | 2022 State FL (Benjamin)
Doubling as a safety for the Benjamin football team, 6’3″ Mark Cueto Mark Cueto 6'3" | CG Benjamin | 2022 State FL had a very nice sophomore year for the basketball team. A 6’3″ guard/forward, he averaged 15.1 PPG and 6.8 RPG, netting double digits in all but one game. Cueto’s season-high came against Jensen Beach as he recorded 22 points in the 60-59 win on Jan. 18. A focal point on both ends of the floor for Benjamin as a core rebounder and slasher, he is definitely making a name for himself.
