There have been quite a few players in the 2021 class to pick up offers recently, and we’re going to highlight who they are and when they got it. All of the offer information and time has come from twitter and the Verbal Commits website, which is possibly the most reliable recruiting page on the web. All of the offers listed have occurred since April has started. Take a look at some of the guys who are getting a lot of division one offers right now.
Efton Reid Efton Reid 7'0" | C The Steward School | 2021 #27 Nation FL | 7’0” C | Steward School (#2 Overall)
New Offers: LSU, Texas, Michigan, Kansas
Reid is a guy who doesn’t boast many of his offers so his recruitment is a little bit of an enigma, but he’s told me that he has been contacted by quite a few schools and has received new offers from LSU, Texas, Michigan and Kansas. He’s one of the most skilled bigs in the country and is gettin recruited by a host of high majors for both the 2020 and the 2021 class.
Roosevelt Wheeler Roosevelt Wheeler 6'9" | C John Marshall | 2021 State #62 Nation VA | 6’11” C | John Marshall (#3 Overall)
New Offers: LSU
Wheeler is a guy who was set to break out in the April live periods and while he already has a number of offers from big programs such as NC State, Georgetown, Miami, Providence, Kansas and Texas A&M he likely would have picked up double digit offers from schools who wanted to see him. He recently picked up LSU and when the rim running big can showcase his improvement on the offensive end he’s likely going to blow up moving forward.
Gabe Wiznitzer Gabe Wiznitzer 7'0" | C Hargrave | 2021 VA | 6’11” C | Hargrave (#4 Overall)
New Offers: Xavier, Iowa, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh
Wiznitzer is quickly becoming one of the most sought after bigs in the country ever since he’s hinted that he won’t come out in 2020 and will go in the 2021 class. A highly skilled big with great size and touch, he’s a guy who can play inside-out, you can run the offense through him and he can play in multiple systems.
Markus Ilver Markus Ilver 6'7" | SF Massanutten | 2021 OH | 6’7” WF | Massanutten (#8 Overall)
New Offers: George Mason, Bryant, Fairfield, St. Bonaventure, ECU, Stetson, UNCW, Toledo, Holy Cross, Quinnipiac, Marshall
Ilver has seen his recruitment take off since the end of the season and he’s a high major talent that will only see the list continue to grow and grow until the high majors start to offer. The Estonian native has great positional size, is a big time athlete and a guy who can knock it down from deep. He’ll likely continue to pull mid major offers but if he can play this summer the big boys will come his way soon.
Angelo Brizzi Angelo Brizzi 6'3" | PG Highland School | 2021 State #216 Nation VA | 6’3” PG | Highland School (#9 Overall)
New Offers: UNCW, Bucknell, Villanova, Georgetown, Cal, Colorado, Virginia Tech, LSU, Iona, Michigan
Brizzi has been one of the hottest recruits on the east coast, as he’s seen high majors come in droves after Villanova offered on April 9th. A highly skilled scoring guard with deep range and a competitive streak, it doesn’t seem to matter if he gets to play this summer as the secret is out and he’s approaching 30 offers at this point.
Clarence Rupert Clarence Rupert 6'7" | PF Miller School | 2021 State VA | 6’7” PF | Miller School (#10 Overall)
New Offers: Murray State, St. Louis
Rupert is coming off of a terrific last calendar year where he saw his stock take off and despite missing out on a live period season where he would likely see a lot of coaches watching him he still has pulled offers from two of the top mid major programs in the country. He’s a mismatch four man that can play inside-out, works his tail off and has shown great improvement over the past few years which bolds well for him at the next level.
Mike Gray Mike Gray 6'0" | CG Blue Ridge | 2021 State VA | 6’1” PG | Blue Ridge (#11 Overall)
New Offer: Middle Tennessee State
Gray has been one of the top point guards in Virginia for the last four years and he was a guy who would have been highly sought after during these live periods. He’s a natural scoring guard that can create for himself and others off the bounce, and he’s a gritty and tough kid on both ends as well. His offer from Middle Tennessee State is well earned and he should see more at that level coming soon.
