Tournaments are starting to be run in certain spots around the country including in Oklahoma and Tampa Bay this weekend.
Here is a look at some more 2021 prospects to keep a close eye on.
ICYMI: Part 1
Will Searl Will Searl 6'3" | CG Boone | 2021 State FL (Boone)
Alongside fellow 2021 guard Javion Phelps Javion Phelps 6'1" | CG Boone | 2021 State FL , 6’3″ guard Will Searl Will Searl 6'3" | CG Boone | 2021 State FL made a huge impact for Boone this past season. The Braves finished 17-10 and Searl was a breakout prospect. He averaged 16.7 PPG and 3.0 RPG as he recorded double digits in all but three games. His best scoring performance came against district opponent Lake Nona as he dropped 35 points on Jan. 21. Over the final two months of the season, Searl averaged nearly 20.0 PPG with seven games over 20 points and two over 30. He is a shooter and playmaker to watch in Orlando this fall.
Jude St. Jacques Jude St. Jacques 6'1" | CG Ridge Community | 2021 State FL (Ridge Community)
A very athletic and speedy group, Ridge Community has a very hard nosed and elusive guard in Jude St. Jacques Jude St. Jacques 6'1" | CG Ridge Community | 2021 State FL . The 6’1″ guard averaged 17.7 PPG for the Bolts, who ended the season at 18-10. For a team that graduated eight seniors from a year ago, St. Jacques instantly took over the backcourt and instilled his footprint. He will have to get stronger in his upper body to handle the attacks inside, but his scoring prowess is very impressive already.
Antonio Rizzo (The Villages)
At 6’6″, Antonio Rizzo is an intriguing wing who is versatile, strong and quick down the floor. On a deep Villages Charter team, he came off the bench this past season and played a key role. Transferring over from St. Francis Catholic, he eased in at his new school and was a true energy piece for the Buffalo. This fall, I expect him to take over a starting spot and flourish on the boards and out in transition as a finisher and leader.
Jacob Dunlow (Hudson)
Size is something that helps many players stand out and for 6’9″ Hudson forward/center Jacob Dunlow, he has just that. He is fresh off a junior campaign where he averaged 9.3 PPG and 9.7 RPG topped by a 14-point, 19-rebound outing against Nature Coast. He’s effective as a big man down low, finishing on 64 percent of his inside shots. Improving his overall body and muscle will do the high academic Dunlow wonders as he heads into his senior season.
Trevyon Hinson (Booker)
A part of the varsity squad as a sophomore, the role that Treyvon Hinson earned this past season was a large one. The 6’7″ forward is a banger down low who moves people around on the boards and on finishes. He averaged 6.2 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 1.5 BPG on the season which featured consecutive double doubles, 15 points and 11 rebounds against Braden River and 11 points and 11 rebounds against Sarasota late in the regular season. A tight end/defensive end for the football team, Hinson is a natural athlete who will continue to improve on the basketball court if he develops a more reliable jumper.
