Jaden Akins Jaden Akins 6'3" | PG Ypsi Prep | 2021 #87 Nation KS (Farmington High School): Akins is one of the most underrated players in the entire country but he comes in at #3 in our 2021 rankings, the highest ranked point guard in the state. The 6’3 guard has incredible speed, a tight and quick handle, and is elite in the pick-and-roll. He also likes to use a right-to-left spin move when attacking. Akins, who can also shoot consistently from the perimeter, has offers from Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Xavier, and more.
Julian Roper Julian Roper 6'4" | PG St. Mary's Prep | 2021 State #137 Nation MI Jr. (St. Mary’s Prep): Roper comes in one spot behind Akins at #4. The 6’2 guard has committed to Northwestern over Alabama, DePaul, Illinois, Ohio State, and others. He is also a willing passer but his strength is definitely his scoring ability. Roper has an extremely polished one-on-one game and he is able to make scoring look so easy. He also has a ton of bounce, likes to get out in transition, and has become a really good perimeter defender.
Devin Womack Devin Womack 6'2" | CG Ann Arbor Huron | 2021 State MI (Ann Arbor Huron High School): Womack moved up to the #15 spot in our new rankings and is definitely a player to watch out for over the next year. The 6’2 point guard has a quick crossover, has multiple ways to finish around the rim, and has improved his outside shot over the last year. He also plays with a lot of confidence, likes to finish with his left hand, and gets a lot of steals off the ball.
Simon Wheeler Simon Wheeler 5'8" | PG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2022 State AZ (Ypsilanti-Lincoln High School): Wheeler is just a spot behind Womack in the rankings and the two should have a chance to go head-to-head at some point next season. The 5’10 point guard, who transferred to Lincoln before last season, has great vision, likes to use one quick move and go, and is a blur in the open court. He also knows how to get skinny when attacking the basket. Wheeler has offers from Detroit Mercy and Marist College.
Blake Lund Blake Lund 6'1" | CG Linden | 2021 State MI (Linden High School): Lund is the least heralded player of the bunch but he has a lot of potential and is arguably the most consistent 3-point shooter of the five. He comes in as the 18th ranked player in the 2021 class and the 11th best senior guard in the state. The 6’1 point guard takes and makes tough shots, is a willing and smart passer in transition, and can finish with both hands at the rim.
