I have been fortuned to watch a lot of them in person.
In the coming weeks, the updated 2021 rankings will be available to the public, so I’m going to mention players that will be somewhere in the rankings.
Here are some of the stat fillers/impact players in the 2021 class.
Stat fillers
Darwin Randolph, East Hamilton: The 6-foot point guard averaged 18 points, six assists, six rebounds and two steals per game for the Hurricanes.
Marcus Long II, East Hamilton: Long averaged 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block for the Hurricanes. The 6-2 point guard made 79 percent of his free throws in 2019.
Kaeden Laws, Center Hill: The 6-5 wing averaged 13.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game for the Mustangs.
Jonathan Milloway, Oak Ridge: The 6-8 forward finished the 2019 season with 489 points, 292 rebounds, 68 blocks, 66 steals and 22 assists. Milloway made 60.9 percent of shots from the field and converted on 44.7 percent of his shots from 3-point range.
Braden Zapp, CPA: The 5-10 point guard led the Lions in scoring with 18.6 points per game. Zapp made 53 percent of his shots from the field.
Impact players
Sam Smith, CPA: The 6-1 small forward averaged 5.8 points while converting on 38 percent of his 3-point attempts.
Jordan Dewalt, CPA: Dewalt averaged 9.3 points per game for the Lions. The 6-1 point guard made 125 of his 243 field goal attempts.
Drew Cox, CPA: Cox played in 34 games for the Lions in a reserve role, so his numbers weren’t stellar. He averaged 3.1 points per game, but shot 39 percent from the field. Cox played a solid part in CPA’s successful 2019 season.
