With the end of the season and no April live periods, the commitment season got started early with at least 15 kids committing since the end of the season. Here’s a look at part two of the list with 7 kids who have announced their choice for their spot next season.
Ethan Wilson Ethan Wilson 6'0" | PG Osbourn Park | 2020 State VA | 6’0” PG | Osbourn Park (#64 Overall)
Commitment: Virginia State
VSU is on the board in the state with one of the best available point guards in not just Northern VA but the entire state. Wilson is a late bloomer who improved immensely over the summer between his junior and senior year in almost every way, and he had a great senior year averaging close to 30 points and 10 rebounds per game and being named District and Region Player of the Year.
Jordan Radford Jordan Radford 6'0" | CG Battlefield | 2020 State VA | 6’1” CG | Battlefield (#82 Overall)
Commitment: Virginia Wesleyan
When you want to talk about a great fit, Radford heading to VA Wesleyan is the definition of that. A big and strong senior combo guard that can play in transition and play well above the rim, he fits Wesleyan’s fast paced style and will be able to make an impact early on both ends of the floor and still has plenty of room to improve moving forward. Radford spent his summers playing for Higher Level.
Thomas Mangrum Thomas Mangrum 6'5" | PF Western Albemarle | 2020 State VA | 6’5” PF | Western Albemarle (#91 Overall)
Commitment: Hood College (D3 MD)
Mangrum committed before the high school season started and went on to have a terrific senior season winning District and Region Player of the Year and helping Western to another state tournament appearance. A versatile forward with great touch that can play inside-out and guard multiple positions, he’s a super productive player that makes winning plays on both ends.
Will Paige Will Paige 5'9" | CG Paul VI | 2020 State VA | 5’7” PG | Paul VI (#108 Overall)
Commitment: Randolph Macon
While Paige wasn’t the biggest name for the VISAA D1 State Champs, he was an integral piece of their run to the state title and will bring high level play making on both ends of the floor to a Macon team that finished #2 in the national rankings this past season. He’s played against the highest level of guards every day, he’s highly skilled and gritty and he has a great IQ as well.
Jaden Keasey Jaden Keasey 6'5" | PF Menchville | 2020 State VA | 6’5” PF | Menchville (#122 Overall)
Commitment: Randolph-Macon
Another commit for Macon that makes four in the Top 150, Keasey is a versatile stretch four that brings the ability to play at the high post and a good feel for the game to an already talented Macon group. He’s a guy who should pick things up quickly, he’s a guy who can play inside-out and should fill out nicely at the next level.
Zion Hanberry Zion Hanberry 6'0" | SG Highland School | 2020 State VA | 6’1” G | Highland School (#134 Overall)
Commitment: Christopher Newport
One of CNU’s already six in state commits, Hanberry was huge in helping Highland School reach the state semifinals and is one of the best pure shooters in the Northern VA area. The 6’1” guard has deep range off the catch, he’s an underrated athlete and while he’s somewhat under the radar he tends to bring it against very good competition.
Jack Farley | 6’3” F | Western Branch
Commitment: Marymount
Farley could be considered a snub in our rankings as he could have easily been ranked and was the only senior on a very successful Western Branch team that made it to the state tournament. He played out of position most of the year in the post but he’s a solid player that has a good feel, can make shots and does whatever it takes to help his team.
