1) ERIK REYNOLDS | BULLIS | OVERALL RANK: #5
Reynolds can wear many different hats and this is part of what makes him such an intriguing prospect. He’s proven capable of shutting down the opposing team’s best perimeter players, but can also get the job done offensively both on and off the ball. There will likely be no shortage of suitors for Reynolds as long as his recruitment remains open.
2) BEZ MBENG | GOOD COUNSEL | OVERALL RANK: #6
Mbeng is a dynamic athlete who plays with controlled rage on both ends of the floor. An explosive scorer, he is capable of putting the ball in the basket from anywhere on the floor. Despite this, Mbeng’s unselfishness and ability to make others around him better is constantly evident.
3) RYAN CORNISH | SIDWELL FRIENDS | OVERALL RANK: #11
Cornish has a nice blend of size and skill, but his basketball IQ is off the charts. He’s a quick learner, an outstanding team defender, and an incredible shooter.
4) DEVIN CEASER | ST. MARY’S RYKEN | OVERALL RANK: #19
Cesar has been a very productive player for a couple of years now. He won’t turn 18 until after he graduates high school, leaving him with plenty of time to continue his physical and mental maturation.
5) MIKE MYRIE | MAGRUDER | OVERALL RANK: #30
Myrie was finally healthy and able to show what he can do last season, and he became must-see tv. An aggressive downhill-type guard who plays above the rim, his jumper is becoming more refined along with his overall game.
6) KINO LILLY JR. | LANDON | OVERALL RANK: #34
Lilly is a prolific floor spacer who is also a very good athlete. He has in the gym range and the ability to wreck a gameplan if not adequately prepared for. Brown is getting someone who offers immediate value as a result of his shot-making prowess.
7) MIASIAH BROWN | WOODROW WILSON | OVERALL RANK: #42
Brown is a tremendous on-ball defender with good size, strength and he’s able to guard several different positions. He is also capable of applying relentless pressure on opposing defenses with his burst, paint-getting and finishing ability.
8) CHACE DAVIS | ST. ANDREW’S | OVERALL RANK: #53
Davis is a skilled guard who can do just about anything offensively. One of his most underrated attributes is his passing. Davis is a reliable playmaker who showcases commendable vision.
9) ED JOHNSON | BISHOP MCNAMARA | OVERALL RANK: #56
Johnson is a smooth southpaw guard who makes shots with consistency from the perimeter. He also mixes it up nicely with his in-between game but is also a crafty finisher around the basket.
10) JULIUS ELLERBE | NEW HOPE | OVERALL RANK: #60
At 6-foot-5, Ellerbe is a big guard with marvelous raw talent. There just aren’t many on this list who can match his upside. We will learn a lot more about Ellerbe in the coming months in terms of exactly how good he can be.
