Individually, you maybe think of Mr. Basketball Von Cameron Davis or Matt Allocco Matt Allocco 6'4" | PG Bradley | 2020 State #405 Nation OH . These are guys that definitely are some of Columbus’ finest, but we can’t forget the few guys that haven’t signed college commitments yet. In this piece, I highlight the current top 5 unsigned high school seniors from Columbus. Take a look at these 2020s still looking for a home!
C.J. Anthony (Harvest Prep)- If you’ve read the few pieces I’ve done on Central Ohio, you would know I am big on Anthony. The 6’0 point guard is physically imposing and is a proven winner. He is arguably one of the best prospects in the entire state still available, and is most definitely the best unsigned point guard on the board. He currently holds D1 offers from schools including Air Force, Milwaukee, and Towson, as well as some D2 offers additionally. With his build, skillset, and winner’s mentality, I have no doubt he is a D1 prospect easily.
Trevell Adams Trevell Adams 5'10" | PG Columbus South | 2020 State OH (Columbus South)- The 5’10 point guard was a major part for a South team that took the Columbus area by storm with a State Runner-Up finish in Division II last year, and a very strong regular season finish this year while moving up to Division I. Adams is one of the better athletes on both ends of the floor and has elite vertical leaps for a guard under 6’0. He currently holds offers at the D2 level from LeMoyne-Owens College in Tennessee and Saint Leo in Florida.
Chase Poston Chase Poston 6'4" | SG Fairfield Union | 2020 State OH (Fairfield Union)- Poston may be a more unknown name to some due to Fairfield Union not being the biggest or most dominant school in the state. However, Chase is still a nice ball player with a skillset NAIA schools would be interested in seeing. The 6’4 guard has a nice build and is lengthy for a backcourt player. Does a nice job of using that length on the perimeter as a defensive player and also showed offensively a solid composure in terms of attacking the rim and finishing through contact. A former Malone commit, Poston still holds the offer from them but as previously mentioned, I believe NAIA schools should be targeting him right now.
Bilal Sow Bilal Sow 6'4" | PF Canal Winchester | 2020 State OH (Canal Winchester)- Sow is one of the more physically imposing forwards in Ohio and has shown he is elite when it comes to knowing how to use his size and frame. The 6’4 power forward has good length and strong build to bump opposing bigs and disrupt shots in the paint. His ability to score from almost anywhere is another trait that impresses me as it shows his versatility and overall game. He recently picked up an offer from Columbus State CC, but I would not be surprised to see him receive another offer soon. He’s undersized for a power forward at the collegiate level, but his size and confidence help him greatly.
Jaden Woods Jaden Woods 6'4" | SF Newark | 2020 State OH (Newark)- The 6’4 small forward does great things on both the gridiron and hardwood as a two-sport athlete. While he plays well on the wing, what most impresses me is how he plays in the paint. Whether it be on offense with his stronger build, or defensively with his quick hands and timely plays, he is a difference maker on both ends of the floor. No known offers for basketball, but could play at the D3 level if a school is still looking.
