This is a competitive group that would’ve been playing against quality competition had they been on the grassroots circuit.
Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N 6’3 Guard, Campolindo ( Moraga CA)
Mahaney is the top prospect in NorCal class of 2022. He has the game of an experienced player right now. He’s been the leading scorer on his Campolindo team for the last two years. He played a major role in the team winning the State Division II Title a year ago, and getting to the division I finals this past season. Mahaney averaged 19.4 ppg. A highly competitive prospect with a polished skill set. He can score at all 3 levels. He has the handles to play either guard position. He has a couple of DI offers.
Davion Wright Davion Wright 6'3" | SG Franklin | 2022 CA-N 6’2 Scoring Guard, Franklin (Elk Grove CA)
A strong bodied scoring guard has the tools to be one of the top guards from the Sacramento area by the time his Senior season rolls around. He averaged 14.1 ppg, 3.9 rebs, team leader in steals. He has an explosive first step to beat opponents off the drive, his body can withstand the contact on the finish, he’s a solid shooter with good vertical on his jump shot. He’s a clever ball handler, plays with his head up and gets his shot off when he wants to. He can defend.
Oziyah Sellers Oziyah Sellers 6'3" | SG Modesto Christian | 2022 #162 Nation CA-S 6’3 Guard, Modesto Christian Modesto CA)
Sellers is a slender prospect with a frame that will add muscle over time. He does all the things a good shooter does, he sets his feet quick, a quick release, moves without the ball, reads the defender, and comes off screens ready. He gets to his spots in transition, has a good jumper going toward the paint. He has a couple of DI offers, we’ll keep an eye on him, his stock should rise.
Austin Johnson Austin Johnson 6'3" | SG Salesian | 2022 State CA-N 6’4 Shooting Guard, Salesian Prep (Richmond CA)
Johnson a big guard with strength and the ability to finish through contact around the basket. He’s a capable shooting guard, he has a good quick release, a strong mid-range jumper and he can get to the rim on the bounce. He spent real time at the point this season working on his handles. With improved handles, he can be a solid combo guard. We’ll see.
Isaiah Kerr Isaiah Kerr 6'2" | CG St. Francis | 2022 State CA-N 6’2 Combo Guard, Saint Francis (Mountain View CA)
Kerr established himself as a must see prospect this past season at St Francis. Going up against quality competition every game in the tough WCAL. He’s on the thin side but makes up for with skill and some toughness. A combo with the handles to breakdown defenders in the open court, his patience and vision up top shows he can be effective running a team. He takes it strong from the wings to the paint for pull up jumpers. He’ll make the ball handler work to bring it up the court. Keep an eye on him.
Aidan Burke Aidan Burke 6'3" | SG Archbishop Mitty | 2022 State CA-N 6’3 Combo Guard, Archbishop Mitty (San Jose CA)
Burke wasn’t a starter for the CCS Open Champions Archbishop Mitty. He was an intrical part of the rotation, no player gave more hustle and effort than Burke when he entered games. I expect he’ll have a bigger role next season. He’s stronger than he looks, he has decent handles and passess it well. He has a good shot from 3, he’ll get a chance to show if he can hit 3’s with some consistency next season.
