Dorien Goodman Dorien Goodman 5'10" | PG Lancaster | 2022 State TX – Class of ’22 – Lincoln HS: Elite pass-first point guard with a lot of heart and a tough competitive spirit. Maybe it’s his intensity or his leadership but any time he’s on the court he stands out. Goodman is always in full control of the offense and locked in on defense. His quick feet and hands lead to steals and deflections game after game. He’s a patient guard that is consistently looking to make the right play, you can’t help but admire his ability to survey the court and pass over the top over defenders with accuracy. He’s a dangerous open court threat, his incredible speed, and handles get him from end to end in a matter of seconds. In a half-court set, he shows potential as a pick & roll point guard; he uses screens effectively to make a play with his quick pull up jump shot or by dropping it off to his cutter or shooter. Dorien Goodman Dorien Goodman 5'10" | PG Lancaster | 2022 State TX earned himself the Sophomore MVP award this season; at this rate he’s on pace for a great high school career.
Dallas Hobbs Dallas Hobbs 6'1" | PG Dynamic Prep Academy | 2023 State TX – Class of ’22 – Faith Family Academy: This sophomore is a complete point guard who excels playing at a high pace. With his very skilled passing and above-average court vision, Hobbs looks to set up his teammates first; he has a talent for throwing lobs and hitting the cutting man. Dallas has a very controlled handle with a variety of moves that keep defenders off balance. This kid is becoming a master at creating space, getting his own shot, and finding holes in the defense. He’s a reliable shooter with range; his lift and balance on his pull up and spot-up jump shots is so robust that he’s able to shoot over taller defenders. Dallas Hobbs Dallas Hobbs 6'1" | PG Dynamic Prep Academy | 2023 State TX does it all on the court, he has all the intangibles, plays with plenty of confidence, and is never afraid to make the big play.
T’Johnn Brown T’Johnn Brown 6'0" | PG Dallas Kimball | 2023 State TX – Class of ’23 – South Garland HS: Highly regarded freshman that stepped up and filled some really big shoes this year. T’Johnn is an incredibly creative ball-handler who can shift his speed and direction on a dime; already one of the best dribblers in the city. He’s an absolute pest on defense, constantly applying pressure to his opponent resulting in turnovers and offensive fouls. His quick hands and cat-like reflexes often produce loose balls and steals. An outstanding playmaker in the fast-break whether it’s scoring or passing. There is no doubt in my mind that T’Johnn Brown T’Johnn Brown 6'0" | PG Dallas Kimball | 2023 State TX will be a high profiled player by his senior season.
De’Juan Leffall – Class of ’21 – South Oak Cliff HS: This 5’8 high IQ lead guard might be the most underrated player on this list, he’s small but can do it all. De’Juan has super speed like a burst of lightning; His powerful first step along with his quickness repeatedly catch defenders off guard. He slides through defenses while making splitting double teams look easy. Even at his size, he doesn’t need any ball screens to get into the lane or to his spots. Leffall is a solid scorer but is most effective when driving the ball. He’s a natural-born facilitator, has great touch on his passes, and sees everything and everyone. He makes his team better with his ability to attack the rim and dish it to his big man or out to the open shooter. From a defensive standpoint, he’s a tough gritty defender that is in lockdown mode all game. De’Juan has incredible awareness with quick strong hands; he can strip the ball from anybody, even the best ball handlers. He’s a relentless defender and is one of the few point guards that can play the passing lanes. De’Juan Leffall has one more season left and it should be his best one yet.
Jason Justice – Class of ’22 – Irving Nimitz HS: 5’7 combo guard that can beat you off the dribble or with his pull up jump shot. Jason is the type of player that can heat up at any moment and take over the game. When it comes to scoring he has good instincts for when to drive or pull up, which he can do from any spot on the court. His footwork, ball control, and ability to read the defender before making a move, make him a productive player with the basketball in his hands. Jason shows true potential as a point guard and should probably have the ball his in hands more often. He controls the pace well, knows when to slow the game down, when to amp it up, and how to dominate in fast pace play. If Jason Justice continues to improve and shows a bit more assertiveness, he will be the top guard in all of Irving.
