Over the upcoming weeks, we will dive deep into the main statistical categories of the top-scoring, three-point shooting, rebounding, and defensive players in each district, as well as our All-District team selections.

This week we will cover District 27-6A, which features high school programs: Churchill Chargers, Johnson Jaguars, Lee Volunteers, MacArthur Brahmas, Madison Mavericks, Reagan Rattlers, Roosevelt Rough Riders, and South San Antonio Bobcats.
Today’s article will feature some of the top scorers from District 27, and we will focus on stats such as average points per game, field goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and three-point percentage.
Here are the top five scorers from District 27-6A:
Will Carsten Will Carsten 6'8" | PF San Antonio Reagan | 2020 State TX – 6-8 Forward – Reagan (2020)
- Carsten is an athletic power-forward that runs the floor good. Plays physical in the paint, and uses his size to his advantage. Averaged 17.1 points per game, 57% from the field, and 71% at the free-throw line. Had 25 double-doubles in 32 games played during his senior campaign.
Jonas Carlisle – 6-2 Forward – South San Antonio (2021)
- During his junior season, Carlisle demonstrated a good ability to drive and finish at the rim. Strong at creating his own shot and finishing even with a defender’s hand in his face. Averaged 15.9 points per contest, shot 51% from the field, 81% at the free-throw line, and hit 35% from three-point range on the year.
Corey Jackson – 5-10 Guard – Roosevelt (2021)
- Jackson finished third in district with 15.1 points per game in 19 games logged on MaxPreps and hit 50% of his shots from the field for Roosevelt.
Keilon Johnson – 6-3 Guard – Madison (2021)
- High energy player with a strong ability to finish at the rim and hit open shots from beyond the arc. He averaged 14.4 points per game in 18 games logged, with 33% from three-point range.
Ayden Zavala – 5-10 Guard – Madison (2021)
- Zavala shots 40% from beyond the arc during his junior season for the Mavericks and led the district in 2.6 makes per game. He averaged 13.8 points per contest in 18 games logged.

2020 F Rashod Owens (Roosevelt) – 12.9 points/game
2021 G Leander Thompson (MacArthur) – 12.7 points/game
2021 G Keith Davis (Reagan) – 11.5 points/game
2020 G Manuel Perez (South San Antonio) – 10 points/game
