It is not always the highest scoring players that get those coveted looks it’s the players that have a game that can translate to the next level. Utah has always been under recruited, but here is a look at some players per-position t(in no particular order) to put on your recruiting board.
6’7 F Ethan Potter Ethan Potter 6'8" | SF Layton | 2021 State #194 Nation UT (Layton)
Great motor as he can fly up and down the court. The kid is a force inside and his outside game continues to evolve. He has room left to grow in all aspects of his game. Another Division 1 prospect that is sure to blow up in due time.
6’8 F Jaden Brownell Jaden Brownell 6'8" | SF Alta | 2021 State UT (Alta)
Jaden is long and skilled and a true player that can stretch the floor. He is long and lanky which enables him to hold his own in the paint rebounding and protecting the rim. Strength and off-season work is going to help him turn heads on whatever circuit he plays on. Expect him to have a leap in production next season. Could be another LM type player.
6’7 F Dallin Grant Dallin Grant 6'8" | SF Cedar City | 2021 State #212 Nation UT (Cedar City)
A versatile athlete with underrated perimeter game. Don’t be fooled by his size he can absolutely put the ball on the floor, create and shoot the rock. Dallin can see the floor well which helps him distribute. Has the skill to haul in a rebound and push the break. Dallin is a Division 1 prospect with offers in his pocket.
6’5 F Robert Whaley Robert Whaley 6'5" | PF Bountiful | 2021 State UT (Bountiful)
Robert is a position-less athlete that has size and strength that he makes up for the height he might give up. Strong left hand and a lot more athletic than people give him credit for. We invite coaches to come watch in person because his in person game is much more telling than film. Could walk on to many Division 1 football programs and play.
6’8 F Cameron Brimhall Cameron Brimhall 6'8" | PF Lone Peak | 2021 State UT (Lone Peak)
Cameron has that game that could get him into a nice D1 JUCO, but he can also pull in a MM or LM school looking to continue to develop an already polished game. He is that player that gets overlooked for some reason, but in his state run he turned a lot of heads. Could be a steal for the right school to swoop in and take him out of state.
6’8 F Carter Welling Carter Welling 6'10" | PF Corner Canyon | 2021 State UT (Corner Canyon)
With a massive jump during his junior year season, another jump will turn even more heads that are starting to notice how Carter is filling into his body. Has that Division type game. Has Division 1 offers already including one from UC Irvine a school his older brother had signed with as well.
6’7 F Parker Buchanan Parker Buchanan 6'7" | SF Box Elder | 2021 State UT (Box Elder)
If there is a high level D2 or NAIA out there look no further as Parker can be a player that can contribute at that level immediately. He is strong and has good footwork. Still has room left to improve. Solid prospect to say the least. Has an offer to play football at Utah State.
6’7 F Jake Wahlin Jake Wahlin 6'8" | SF Timpview | 2021 State #150 Nation UT (Timpview)
Jake is another player that often gets falsely classified because of his height because Jake has a lot of qualities that can make him effective away from the rim. He has a great looking shot and is ideal in a pick’n pop situation. Jake is another player that has Division 1 offers and could continue to rack them up this summer and next fall.
6’7 F Juan Pablo Camargo (Provo)
This kid made some noise in the playoffs. A sure lock at the D2, NAIA level. Plays a mature game and is scrappy. Sneaky athlete in different aspects of his game not just in his elevation. Would have a lot of time to improve and make a difference at the JUCO level as well.
6’9 F Hunter Phillips Hunter Phillips 6'9" | C Westlake | 2021 State UT (Westlake)
NWAC schools need to offer him now and early. He is an impact player at that level. Moves extremely well up and down the floor. In some aspects of his game he is still raw. A big year might increase his stock as a higher prospect. Holds his own against some of the other high quality bigs in the state.
