Below we take a look at some of the best the state of Alabama has to offer when it comes to the guard position.
Antonio Kite Antonio Kite 6'1" | NA lbs | PG Anniston | 2022 State #240 Nation AL , 6’2 PG, Anniston: What’s not to love about this prospect. He can do it all from the lead guard position. The ultimate triple threat guy who can handle it has exceptional vision and can score it from all 3 levels at a very high clip. He is an explosive athlete that can finish well above the rim with booming dunks or go Filayyy on you with a sweet jelly roll. Look for high majors throughout the Power 5 to be making a bid to ink this prospect.
Avaughn Johnson Avaughn Johnson 6'4" | NA lbs | SF Murrah | 2022 #NA Nation AL , 6’1 CG, Sparkman: This physical guard’s body looks like its ready for the D1 level right now and he is only a sophomore. His ability to get to the painted area off the dribble and finish around the rim with either hand is high level. He is a very good shooter from beyond the 3 point line and is a good passer. He projects more to the point guard position on the next level but his strength will allow him to be able to guard multiple positions on the perimeter. With several D1 offers already expect to hear a lot of this name over the next few years.

, 6’4 SG, Brooks: This kid can score the basketball. He has a smooth silky game with a very crafty handle and understands how to change pace and levels in order to beat his defender. His size, length, and quick first step which allows him to be able to get his sweet spots on the floor where he knows he can be effective. He has an effortless stroke and textbook release on his jump shot.
He is sneaky athletic and it shows the most with the way he is able to hang and finish through contact. And don’t be shocked when he drops one on a defenders head and turns him into a GIF.
Calen Lightford Calen Lightford 5'11" | NA lbs | PG Sparkman | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 5’10 PG, Sparkman: Speed is what comes to mind when this guard touches the floor. His quick-twitch and lightning first step allow him to consistently beat his defender off the dribble. He shoots the ball very well from deep off the dribble and is dead-eye in catch and shoot situations. He has a very good pull up game in the mid-range and has a very creative floater package that helps him to finish over bigger players. Believe it or not, he is an underrated passer that has a knack of getting his teammates the ball where they can be most successful.
Jacari Lane Jacari Lane 5'11" | NA lbs | PG Lee-Huntsville | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 5’11 PG, Lee-Huntsville: The smooth operator has a very unique and intriguing game. He never seems to be going extremely fast but defenders are simply unable to stay in front of him. His handle is very deceptive and nightly puts guys in the blinder. He is a very good passer and seems to play with a poised and calm demeanor. He never seems rushed or flustered and is almost impossible to trap in the open court. He can breakdown the defense from the top or from the wing and get to the basket and finish with a variety of layups and floaters. Very mature game.
