Sean Evans Sean Evans 6'3" | CG Legend | 2021 State CO – Legend
Evans is a player that jumped onto our rankings list after having himself a solid season where he showed glimpses of what is to come moving forward. Sean was a part of a young Legend team that started to catch the attention of people as the season ended. On the season, Evans averaged 9.8pts, 2.1ast, and 3rebs per game. Sean showed flashes of him of being able to run the offense when needed as well as scoring the ball efficiently. Once AAU resumes I think we are in for a big summer from Sean.
Alonzo Paul Alonzo Paul 5'8" | PG Regis Jesuit | 2021 State CO – Regis
Alonzo was one of our biggest stock booster of the season. The Regis guard had a breakout year that caught a lot of people’s attention. Although Regis started to the season 0-9, they were able to get things together and make a run to the Great 8. Paul was a huge part of that the crafty lefty was able to run point for Regis by being aggressive on the offensive end and be a pest on the defensive end. With 9.4pts, 2.ast and 2.3 rebs a game including a 33 point outing against Mullen, Alonzo showed how versatile his game truly is and I can’t wait to see what he bring to the table next season as Regis will be heavy favorites to win it all.
Ryan Moe Ryan Moe 5'9" | PG Thomas Jefferson | 2021 State CO – Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson is always a team to watch out for, especially when its closer to the tournament. This year was no surprise when they were able to make it to the Sweet 16 while being the 25th seeded team. The Spartans were a well-balanced team that had guys that starred in their role. One player in particular that stood out was Ryan Moe Ryan Moe 5'9" | PG Thomas Jefferson | 2021 State CO . Moe had averages of 12.5 pts, 2.3ast, 3.2rebs and 2.4stls per game. He literally did it all and was often called upon to be the defensive stopper. What stands out for me is Ryan didn’t necessarily have plays that were called for him so when he did get the ball he consistently made winning plays. With two key players graduating this year, I’m interested in seeing how Ryan’s game will grow as he takes on a bigger role. He’s a player to watch out for.
Jeremiah Warren Jeremiah Warren 6'2" | CG Hinkley | 2021 State CO – Hinkley
Hinkley’s expectations weren’t high heading into the season as they came off of a 6-17 season and they were in a playoff drought. It seemed to be a rebuilding stage for the next couple of years but on the backs of Jeremiah Warren Jeremiah Warren 6'2" | CG Hinkley | 2021 State CO , Hinkley turned things around. That drought came to an end as the Thunder Birds had a 15-10 season. In Warren’s first game of the season he made it be known that he was on a mission as he had an 25 point outing and showed that he would be the go-to scorer. He ended the season averaging a team high 14.8pts while adding 3.1rebs a game. Warren can score from all three levels and excels next to a high IQ guard that can hit him in his spots.
Next year, Hinkley stands to lose eight players to graduation which will only increase the role for Warren which is something that I know he is looking forward to.
Quint Geck Quint Geck 6'2" | CG Rock Canyon | 2021 State CO – Rock Canyon
Geck is a player that we thought would break out this season but dropped with all of the additions we made to the list. Geck is a player that struggled to find his role this season despite being a solid player. Geck however did show a few glimpses of what is to come as he finished in double figures a few times. When his shot is on, he is tough to defend and opens up different elements to Rock Canyon’s offense. Consistency has been his only issue. A confident Quentin Geck like we see in the summer surrounded by a strong supporting cast next season at Rock Canyon will have him as one of the quickest stock risers we are going to keep an eye on
