MVP: Trey Alexander Trey Alexander 6'4" | SG Oklahoma City Heritage | 2021 State #55 Nation OK Heritage Hall
Ultimately, Alexander just could not be stopped this season no matter who the Chargers played. The argument could have been made for Bijan Cortes Bijan Cortes 6'2" | PG Kingfisher | 2021 State #195 Nation OK and I want to be clear he had a great season. Any other year it would have been Cortes award. What Alexander did this year was beyond remarkable. He did what so many try to do, take the next step. The stats of Alexander are off the charts as he averaged 27.3 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Anybody out there who called Alexander a one-trick pony as just a scorer fell flat on their face this year. Alexander is a five-star if I have ever seen one and hopefully, it will clear up this summer for him to get an opportunity to prove it.
First Team
Bijan Cortes Bijan Cortes 6'2" | PG Kingfisher | 2021 State #195 Nation OK Kingfisher
Matthew Stone Matthew Stone 6'4" | SF Kingfisher | 2021 State OK Kingfisher
Brennen Burns Brennen Burns 5'10" | PG Bethany | 2020 State OK Bethany
Jaxson Robinson Jaxson Robinson 6'7" | SG Ada | 2020 #29 Nation OK Ada
Anthony Pritchard Anthony Pritchard 6'1" | PG Tulsa Webster | 2021 State OK Webster
Burns is the lone senior to make the first team even if you include the MVP of the Class. The future is bright in Class 4A, to say the least. Burns had just a fantastic senior season leading Bethany to a cinderella run to the Class 4A State Tournament as a top seed. Who knows? They might have just won it and shocked us all. The stock continues to rise on Cortes as he led Kingfisher in just about every category. The crazy part is Cortes took a weakness and turned it into a major positive shooting over 50% from behind the arc. Stone flies under the radar, which is nuts because of how talented the kid is on the Wing. Pritchard had a heavy load to carry to get Webster dancing in the State Tournament. He was up for the task and some. Robinson is one of the most slept on players in our state I have seen in quite some time when you compare how little he gets talked about to how great of a prospect he is in the 2021 class nationally. This first team is tremendous. In my opinion top to bottom, they’d be the favorites against any of the past classes. Feel free to challenge me on that.
Second Team
Brock Davis Brock Davis 6'5" | SF Georgetown Day | 2022 State MD Holland Hall
Cameron Burns Bethany
Ben Patrick Classen SAS
Josh Jones Broken Bow
Conner Calavan Conner Calavan 6'3" | SG Fort Gibson | 2020 State OK Fort Gibson
The second team features many players who would be on the first team most years in Class 4A. Calavan starts the list with his great shooting from the outside. What you may not know if you have not watched Calavan play recently is how much his game has grown beyond shooting the rock. Burns is the perfect glue guy for Bethany. His willingness to attack the boards and play tough defense is always welcomed. Patrick and Jones both had great years for their team and we will wonder what could have been with each of them and their teams. Davis was the rock for Holland Hall in the paint all year making things difficult for opposing teams inside all while scoring with ease in the paint on offense. Davis and Hall were easily the team to beat from the East and had a bracket that laid out nicely.
Third Team
Kalub Hunt Kalub Hunt 6'4" | SF Newcastle | 2020 State OK Newcastle
Kyle Hook Holland Hall
Jack Spainer Heritage Hall
Michal Wooldridge Bethany
Kaden Cooper Kaden Cooper 6'4" | SG Ada | 2022 OK Ada
6th Man: Garrett Eaton Holland Hall
The third team could be a legit team 1-5 position-wise and be pretty darn good. Spainer at the Point running the show making sure everyone is in line. Hunt, Hook, and Cooper on the Wing with Wooldridge down low. Hunt is one of the most underrated kids in Class 4A with his scoring talents and athleticism. Hook does not get the shine he deserves but is that glue guy that makes the team gell perfectly. Cooper is an athletic show on both ends of the court with tons of upside. Wooldridge is a talented big man who is starting to figure things out on both ends of the floor. Last but not least Eaton deserves to make this list with his big shots he consistently hit all year for Holland Hall. Eaton was a bucket getter.
