Normally, this would be an exciting time of year for possible high school basketball prospects to
showcase their abilities in front of college basketball coaches. The work players put in during
the prep season is tested as they jockey for positions on college recruiting boards and
evaluators rankings list. This weekend would have been the second live period of April.
However, this is a Dead Period in terms of NCAA recruiting. Nevertheless, Prep Hoops will list in
a series of articles players in the New Orleans Metro area that would have been battling to
garner the attention of college scouts. Eventually we will post the Metro’s top 25 regardless of
position. The first region of the Metro area will focus on is the Northshore. This area of New
Orleans is most famous for former Duke and NBA guard Chris Duhon.
Here’s a look at the Northshore’s top players by school:

Trey Alfonso 2021- 6’2” left-handed point guard who is a jack of all trades in terms of
rebounding, defense, and running his team. Can hit the outside shot, but game is primarily

Christopher Caskey 2022- 6’3” long rangy shooting guard who gets his hands on a lot of balls on

Improvements in ball handling and weight room will really make Christopher intriguing.

defense. Hard worker away from team and has decent DNA both parents played collegiate
athletics.
Northshore
James Bridges 2023- 6’4” big strong body forward. Raw learning the game, but physical and cat
like on defense. Will be keeping an eye out how he develops.
