Quite simply, many people just have more time on their hands. For the basketball community it means 1 thing for sure: NBA2K20! What if there was a high school basketball video game? Let’s call it Michigan 2K20. What players would I want to play with? Who would I want on my roster? We took a look at the class of 2021, so now we will pick some players from the class of 2022
Michigan 2k20 – Class of 2021
Emoni Bates (G/F, Ypsilanti-Lincoln)
Ok, this is sort of obvious. Playing a high school basketball video game with Bates is like having Michael Jordan in your bag. He’d be impossible to stop. Ever play those games where there’s an unwritten rule that you can’t be a certain guy or certain team because they’re impossible to stop? That’s Bates.
JaVaughn Hannah JaVaughn Hannah 6'4" | SG Orchard Lake St. Mary's | 2022 State #221 Nation MI (SG, Mt. Clemens)
Hannah can put up points in chunks and it’d be the same on Michigan 2K20. He’s always a threat to score from anywhere on the court. Hannah would draw the “no way that goes in” screams from your opponent.
Orlando Lovejoy Orlando Lovejoy 6'3" | CG 1 of 1 Prep | 2022 State NC (PG, Summit Academy)
Guard play can dominate a video game, so why not grab Lovejoy? He’s as explosive as they come and can break down any defender. Imagine having him isolated on the perimeter and putting a nasty combo move together.
Ty Rodgers Ty Rodgers 6'6" | SF Grand Blanc | 2022 #34 Nation IN (SF, Grand Blanc)
Rodgers is a superstar athlete that would dominate Michigan 2K20. If you have him in your lineup, keep instant replay on stand by. Rodgers would be showtime on the screen.
Brady Titus Brady Titus 5'10" | PG Tri-Unity Christian | 2022 State MI (PG, Tri-Unity Christian)
I like having that steady floor general when I play a video game. The guy that won’t make a bad pass and rarely turns it over……that’s both the real Titus and the 2K Titus.
Kyler Vanderjagt Kyler Vanderjagt 6'4" | 195 lbs | SF Northview | 2022 State MI (SF, Northview)
I always want a tough and strong guy that can play through contact on my video game team. Vanderjagt fits that bill. Not to mention, he’s a 3 level scorer and can play multiple positions.
