One of the most productive players in the class, Allen led 4A in scoring at 26.4 points a game, and has turned himself into a nearly 40% 3-point shooter. A tough, athletic guard who can get to the rim with the best of them, he’s a dynamic scorer who also gets his teammates involved and has quick hands on the defensive end of the floor.
12 | Karson Sharar Karson Sharar 6'2" | SG Iowa Falls-Alden | 2021 State IA | SG | Iowa Falls-Alden
Sharar’s shooting percentages dropped this year, but he’s a confident shooter who can fill it up in a hurry. He’s got a quick release, extended range and a solid all-around scoring skill set. He’s one of the best pure scorers in the 2021 class, and he averaged just under 24 points a game as a junior, despite 40-33-77 splits. Just think what he could average if he increased each of those numbers by 4-5 percent. He currently holds an offer from Drake.
13 | Trey Shearer Trey Shearer 5'10" | PG Montezuma | 2021 State IA | PG | Montezuma
A shifty lead guard who can score efficiently from all three levels, Shearer is one of the most dynamic players in the class. He has outstanding hanldes, changes speeds well and is able to pull up from anywhere and elevate into his picturesque jumper. A hard worker who competes on every possession, he’s a quick twitch athlete with a great first step that he uses to get by defenders and into the paint, where he can finish with either hand. He has committed to play at Truman State.
14 | Jayden Houston Jayden Houston 6'3" | SF Davenport North | 2021 State IA | SF | Davenport North
Built like a linebacker, Houston thrives on playing downhill and getting to the bucket, where he uses his strength to finish through contact. A tough, physical wing who won’t back down from anyone, he’s a good athlete who competes on the glass on both ends of the floor and will get after it on the defensive end as well. He’s a bulldog, and if he can iron out his jumper and even become a 34-35% 3-point shooter, he could have a great collegiate career somewhere.
15 | Connor Drew Connor Drew 6'6" | PF Ballard | 2021 State IA | PF | Ballard
A big combo forward with the ability to score inside and out, Drew has soft touch around the rim and a smooth jumper from the arc. He has great hands and rebounds at a high level, and he’s tough in the paint. He’ll need to continue to improve his quickness if he wants to defend at the next level, but he communicates well on that end of the floor. After a big week at the state tournament, he picked up an offer from NAIA Mount Marty.
16 | Ryan Riggs Ryan Riggs 6'9" | PF Dowling Catholic | 2021 State IA | PF | Dowling Catholic
A solid interior presence who is active on both ends of the floor. He’s an efficient scorer on the block, has good length and size, and can stretch the floor and knock down an occasional 3. Needs to become more assertive on the offensive end.
17 | Cooper DeJean Cooper DeJean 6'2" | CG OABCIG | 2021 State IA | CG | OABCIG
DeJena recently committed to play football at Iowa in college, but he’s a high-level basketball player as well. An explosive athlete with the ability to score from all three levels, DeJean stuffs the box score on a nightly basis. He’s big, strong and physical, with great touch on his shot. He would have been a nice Division II level player if he choose to go that route, but will instead be a Power 5 football player.
18 | Jake Layman Jake Layman 6'7" | SF Sergeant-Bluff Luton | 2021 State IA | SF | Sergeant Bluff-Luton
A long wing with good size and a nice looking stroke from deep, he saw his shooting percentages fall this year as he was a more important part of opposing game plans. But he moves well without the ball, can stretch the floor and has the length to make an impact on defense. He holds offers from Sioux Falls, Augustana (SD) and Morningside.
19 | Joe Knutson Joe Knutson 6'8" | PF Cedar Falls | 2021 State IA | PF | Cedar Falls
A big, physical forward with improving explosiveness and athleticism, Knutson finishes above the rim, rebounds the ball well and can make an impact on the defensive end of the floor. He was a role player on a loaded Cedar Falls roster, but has the frame and a developing skill set that will make him an intriguing prospect at the next level. Truman State has offered.
20 | Reid Grant Reid Grant 6'1" | PG Johnston | 2021 State IA | PG | Johnston
An incredibly smart lead guard who does a great job limiting turnovers and getting others involved, Grant is more facilitator than scorer. He is a solid on-ball perimeter defender, and is capable of finishing through contact with either hand when he’s looking to attack.
