However, with everything going on surrounding the coronavirus, they will not be able to play AAU this spring. Below are five rising sophomores that were set to have big springs and start establishing their footing on colleges recruiting boards.
6’2 Raymond Watts Raymond Watts 6'4" | SG St. John's | 2023 State MD | Bishop McNamara
I was looking forward to seeing how the 6’2 guard was going to do this spring with Team Durant. Watts was able to make an impact while on the court for Bishop McNamara this past season and looks to be an important piece in the success McNamara wants to have in the future.
6’4 Bryson Wilson Bryson Wilson 6'5" | SF St Stephen’s And St Agnes | 2023 State VA | Maret
Wilson has a very strong future ahead of him at Maret. Standing at 6’4, Wilson already has a good amount of muscle on him and looks more like an upperclassmen than rising sophomore.
6’7 Malik Bowman Malik Bowman 6'7" | PF Bishop Walsh | 2023 MD | Bishop Walsh
I recently saw Malik in early March and he was the most productive player on the court for Bishop Walsh. He brings energy to the floor which ultimately helps him produce in whatever way possible. Bowman was all over the boards in my recent evaluation of him, especially on the offensive end keeping possessions alive. Look for him to be a major impact player in the years to come.
6’8 Marcel Gardner Marcel Gardner 6'9" | C St. Andrew's | 2023 State MD | St. Andrew’s
Gardner got some minimal minutes this year for St. Andrew’s but looks to play a big part in the years to come for Kevin Jones. Marcel’s size will immediately jump out to you and is looking like one of the better post players in the local 2023 class.
5’10 Malik Mack Malik Mack 6'0" | PG St. John’s | 2023 State #260 Nation MD | St. John’s
Mack found himself in the rotation this year for St. John’s and looks a lot more experienced than his actual age. Size doesn’t seem to bother him as he is always one of the smaller guys on the court. Mack has a tremendous feel for the game and always seems to make the right play for his team.
