1) HUNTER DICKINSON | DEMATHA | OVERALL RANK: #1
Dickinson has grown into a truly dominant force not just locally, but nationally. One of the biggest differences in his game this year has to be his willingness to shoot the trey ball. We’ve seen glimpses of Dickinson’s ability to make threes at times in the past, but not to the degree that we did this year.
2) OUMAR KOUREISSI | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN | OVERALL RANK: #21
Koureissi, a no-brainer division one prospect, possesses a very intriguing blend of size and skill. He’s extremely coordinated, has great hands and is capable of scoring from anywhere on the floor.
3) TEGRA IZAY | ARCHBISHOP CARROLL | OVERALL RANK: #32
You won’t find many better post defenders than Izay. His best games have come against bigs who hover around 7-feet. Izay moves bodies in the paint and can be very disruptive around the basket with his length.
4) GARFIELD TURNER | COVENANT LIFE | OVERALL RANK: #34
VMI continues to find hidden gems in this area, with Turner being their latest steal. At 6-foot-7, the nimble big man is a solid defender who continues to improve on the offensive end.
5) JOHN SQUARE | ST. JOHN’S | OVERALL RANK: #37
Square is one of the best stretch bigs in the area, and his game translates very well to the next level. He is a versatile defender who is very good at hedging, switching, and taking charges. Despite being relatively undersized, Square more than makes up for it with his length, communication, and relentless motor.
6) WILSON RAMABU | BISHOP WALSH | OVERALL RANK: #47
Ramabu is the perfect low usage, high-efficiency post prospect. He is extremely efficient with the ball and can produce without having one play called for him. Ramabu is also a terrific athlete who plays above the rim on both ends of the floor.
7) CHRIS SMITH | RIVERDALE BAPTIST | OVERALL RANK: #52
Smith, one of the most feared paint enforcers in the DMV, reinforced those credentials by winning Capital Beltway Defensive Player of the Year. He should make an immediate impact at Delaware State.
8) PAUL SMITH | DEMATHA | OVERALL RANK: #53
Smith’s opportunity waned during his senior year, but he’s proven to be a good player if you look at his overall body of work. ETSU is getting a good piece to add to its respected program.
9) JOSH WALKER | RIVERDALE BAPTIST | OVERALL RANK: #57
Walker is one of the most athletic prospects in the DMV regardless of class or position. He’s still got plenty of room to grow and that’s exciting.
10) CHRISTIAN JOHNSON | RON BROWN | OVERALL RANK: #64
Brown dominated the competition throughout his breakout senior year. The Howard commit should fight for minutes from day one and continue to improve as he grows into his body.
