Here’s your one stop shopping list. I have for you 15 players and their next stop on their hoop journey. As more players sign I will update this list.
R J DAVIS. 6”1. STEPINAC H S (NORTH CAROLINA) D1
R J will be playing for North Carolina Tar Heels next season. He was a co-player of the year in the state of N Y. A explosive first step and a flat out scorer. N C looks like they have another special guard.
ANDREW CURBELLO 6”1 LUHI. (ILLINOIS)D1
Co -player of the year in the state of N Y for 2020. 2019 was the player of the year. Excellent skill set. A smooth player. Plays with a lot of confidence . Should excel in the Big Ten.
MALIK EDMEAD 5”9. DEER PARK (MERRIMACK) D1
Merrimack’s first year in D1 was very successful winning the NEC. The second success was securing this guard early in the recruitment process. Malik’s overall game is exceptional. He can drill the three, finish through contact. Excellent passer who knows when he needs to setup a teammate. But also knows when he needs to take over the game. All this plus at 5”9 he can also dunk on the break against bigger players. His pull up game is as good as anyone. Will probably redshirt a year and then be ready to play his last 2 years, when Merrimack is allowed to play in the conference tournament.
ZED KEY. 6”8. LUHI. ( OHIO STATE) D1
This big man can do it inside. He can also step out . Big body takes up space. Very good rebounder. Nice post moves. Should be a force in the Big ten as soon as he steps on campus.
JALEN CELESTINE 6”6 LUHI ( CALIFORNIA) D1
Jalen was injured and missed his senior year. He has rehabbed and will be ready for his frosh season at Cal. They signed him early and never wavered. He will be an impact player in the PAC 12 .
MIKE SIXSMITH 6”2. HOLY TRINITY H S ( SACRED HEART)D1
Mike can score many ways. Old school player without the ball. Always moving to get open. Very good mid range game as well as shooting the three. Can score around the rim. High basketball IQ. Will be a really nice player at the next level.
KENNY LAZO 5”10 BRENTWOOD H S (MOLLOY)D2
A very tough competitor. High energy combined with excellent skill set . Very good in transition. Can finish at rim. Good vision and very good range. A really good get for this successful D2 program on Long Island.
TY-SHON PANNEL 5”10 CENTRAL ISLIP H S (CALDWELL)D2
A flat out scorer. An exciting player to watch. A player who low D1’s will wonder why they didn’t check in. Caldwell will be very happy they didn’t. Can see him being a impact future all league player. He’s that good . I’m that high on him.
KIERAN DORNEY 6”8 CHAMINADE H S ( PACE) D2
Another really nice get for a D2 program. Very good face up game. A highly skilled big, that can step out and really shoot it. Really smart big, who can guard on the perimeter. Should have a very nice career at the next level.
XAVIER ALLEN 6”0 MATTITUCK HS ( LANDER ] D2
A very good D2 program came to the island and snatched a really good player. Led Suffolk county in scoring . Really good shooter who scores in multiple ways. Should have a nice career at a school that regularly schedules D1 programs.
SPENCER MALLOY 6”6 COMMACK H S ( ST JOSEPHS L I)D3
The D3 school secures a big. Plays with his back to the basket. Can score with either hand around the rim. Soft touch 12 ft and in. A strong rebounder who defends the post. Should be a future all league player for St. Joseph’s on Long Island in the skyline conference.
ANTHONY FERRUFINO 6”5 ISLAND TREES ( ST JOSEPHS LI)D3
Anthony is another post player who scores around the rim. Can also step out and hit the three. A good rebounder who can block shots. Very good footwork and really knows how to repost. Was used a lot to beat the press because of his passing ability. Will be a very nice piece in this league.
RYAN MCNEELY 6”1 MOUNT SINAI H S ( ST JOSEPHS L I) D3
A really good shooter. A coach’s son. High basketball I Q. Really drills the three. But has a very good mid range game. Should be a nice player as his game continues to evolve.
TIM HIRDT 6”3 MILLER PLACE H S ( ST JOSEPHS L I) D3
Fundamentally sound lefty. Likes the old school pump fake off the glass. Can create space with his strength. Tim can rebound in traffic and lead the break off the dribble. A player to watch.
JOSH FENNER 5”10 JOHN GLEN H S (HARTWICK) D3
All time leading scorer at his H S. A pure scorer with a great skill set. In his H S career he has seen every imaginable defense to stop him, it has not worked. Hartwick should really get excited about this incoming freshman.
