Jayson Mathew 5’10 Point Guard Grant (Sacramento CA)
A quick point guard with a high IQ was a key contributor in Grants success this season. The pass first point guard has handles, speed, and excellent footwork. He has good court vision, his penetration and dishes to open teammates after breaking down opponents is impressive. He shows good patience running the half court offense. He has a good pull up jumper and his quick hands generates steals on defense. He’ll be a big time contributor next season
Malik rose 5’9 Point Guard, Folsom (Folsom CA)
A good point guard who plays fearless, and with good body control. A good burst from the point of attack, very good at getting the bigs to commit, then dishing at the right moment. Rose gets the ball up court in a hurry he only needs a little opening to take it all the way. He’s determined to run the offense and keeping teammates involved. His speed makes him a pesky on ball defender.
Kendall Allen Kendall Allen 5'11" | CG Vacaville Christian | 2022 CA-N 5’11 Guard, Vacaville Christian (Vacaville CA)
A good all around two sport athlete (football) The athletic scoring guard has a good body and competes on a regular basis. He is the team leader in scoring 21.8 ppg, rebs 4.5 and stls 2.5. Allen can rack up points in a hurry and in different ways, around the rim with either hand and on 3’s. A good player in the open court, a good passer and always competes.
Jordan Aquino Jordan Aquino 5'9" | CG Lincoln SF | 2022 State CA-N 5’8 Guard, Lincoln (San Francisco CA)
At 5’8 Aquino is a scoring guard that gives a defender fits trying to stop him without help. The confident guard has control of the game with ball in his hands. He uses an assortment of finishing moves to score, floaters, pull ups, reverses with either hand. A thick body who plays with balance and under control.
Ethan Patterson Ethan Patterson 6'1" | PG Bradshaw Christian | 2022 State CA-N 6’0 Guard, Bradshaw Christian (Sacramento CA)
A steady guard calm under pressure, good handles and plays with confidence. He plays at a steady pace, a good change of speed player, and has a quick burst to get by defenders from the wings. He has a good mid-range game he relies on to score. He averaged 9.7 ppg.
Nate Jean Pierre 5’10 Point Guard, Palma (Salinas CA)
A skilled guard who looks to get teammates going early. He has the tools to be a solid playmaker on top, good handles, court vision and a excellent passer. A good driver who can get into the paint for pull ups. Pierre spent time on the wings, he’s a decent spot up shooter from 3. He needs to be more aggressive.
Evan Johnson Evan Johnson 6'0" | PG Stevenson | 2022 State CA-N 6’0 Point Guard, Stevenson (Pebble Beach CA)
A two sport athlete (football) Handles himself well on the court, good handles, speed and strength. He average 9.2 ppg, 6.4 rebs, good for a guard his size. What can he do at a more competitive level.
Javion Cole 5’11 Point Guard, Oakland (Oakland CA)
Hard to overlook a point guard from Oakland. A decent guard, doesn’t back down, and holds his own against quality opponents. An active player always moving and looking for openings. He’s still kind of raw, but shows flashes of what he can do, quick hands, quick feet, more consistency is needed at this point. I need to see more of this player
Brady Cook Brady Cook 5'10" | PG Northgate | 2022 State CA-N 5’10 Guard, Northgate (Walnut Creek CA)
A good prospect who acts like the coach on the floor, what he does won’t show up in the box score. He was a consistent performer throughout the season. He does a good job running the team half court. He doesn’t stand around, he moves well with and without the ball, sets good screens, closes out well on the perimeter. His mid range is okay and he has good form on his shot from 3.
