Highlighted below are some of the players in Washington that have proven themselves to bring one elite skill to the table that is very likely to translate to the next level. College coaches that need a player to take a charge? Got it. Need a player that can go get a bucket? Got it. Need a player that will pick up full court defensively? Once again, got it, plus more!
Need a player to take a charge?
2021 6’4 SG Noah Pepper Noah Pepper 6'4" | SG Selah | 2021 State WA of Selah High School might take charges better than any player in the country. His help side defense and willingness to put his body on the line is truly elite. His toughness, aggressiveness on the weak side and all around ability to take charges is as good as I have ever seen. Pepper has taken over 100 charges just three years into his high school career. He also carries a 3.93 GPA.
Need a player to get a bucket?
2021 6’1 PG Omari Maulana Omari Maulana 6'1" | PG Life Christian Academy | 2021 State WA is a bucket getter at Life Christian Academy! Maulana was good for 23 points per game this year, leading Life Christian Academy to the 2b state title game. He has a slick handle and is very aggressive attacking the basket where he can absorb contact and finish with skill. Scorers are always confident players and Maulana has that going for him.
Need a player that will pick up full court defensively?
2021 5’10 PG Julian Agosto Julian Agosto 5'11" | PG Nathan Hale | 2021 State WA of Nathan Hale High School is everything you ask of a smaller guard on the defensive end. His lateral quickness and reaction time are both truly elite. Agosto never really seems to get tired and his style of defensive is refreshing to watch for a day and age where offense gets a mass majority of the publicity, although he is skilled on that end as well.
Need a player with sneaky athleticism?
2021 6’2 CG Haden Hicks Haden Hicks 6'2" | SG Prosser | 2021 State WA at Prosser High School seems to have an eye popping play just about every game he plays in. He has the ability to throw it down in traffic or on the break. He comes up with big blocks and rebounds and plays a good aggressive game all around. Hicks plays at a small school and doesn’t look the part at first, but he will sneak up on you and throw it down! *Feature image
Need a player that is only going to continue to get better?
2021 6’5 SF Tucker Molina Tucker Molina 6'5" | SF Glacier Peak | 2021 State WA of Glacier Peak High School has some serious potential as a college prospect and showed very well at the state tournament. He has the athleticism and size on the wing that college coaches love. Molina is capable of hitting the outside shot or he can drive and finish through contact with skill and athleticism. A stock riser in the 2021 class with continued room for growth!
