We highlight players who excelled in the main statistical categories of scoring, three-point shooting, rebounding, and on defense in each district, as well as our All-District team selections.

We will now dive deep into District 26-6A, which features high school programs: Canyon Cougars, Clemens Buffaloes, East Central Hornets, Judson Rockets, New Braunfels Unicorns, San Marcos Rattlers, Smithson Valley Rangers, and Steele Knights.
This article will feature some of the top scorers in the district, with each of these players standing out above the rest for their respective teams when it comes to putting points on the scoreboard. Stats such as points per game and field goal percentage will be the key categories that we look at.
Here are the top scorers from District 26-6A from the 2019-20 season:
Austin Kenwisher – 6-1 Guard – Smithson Valley (2020)
- During his senior season, Kenwisher demonstrated an elite ability to score averaging 17.9 points per contest for the Rangers. A smooth deep-range and mid-range shooter with a quick trigger, Kenwisher found ways to get open shots and hit 38% from beyond the arc and 42% from the field altogether. He is quick to get to the rim and finishes through contact, and he also made 90% of his free-throw attempts.
Mason Pullen – 6-4 Guard – New Braunfels (2020)
- A physical playmaker with the ball in his hands, Pullen excelled at driving to the rim and finishing at the basket and in the mid-range. Averaging 16.6 points per game, Pullen hit 52% of his shots from the field and 37% from deep, while also nailing 78% from the charity stripe.
Mike Chandler II – 6-1 Guard – Judson (2020)
- An All-State selection for 6A during his senior campaign, Chandler II showed explosiveness in his offensive game as he averaged 16.3 points per contest on 53% shooting from the field. Whether its impressive dunks in the fastbreak or nailing three-point shots at a high clip (41%), Chandler II found a way to put up points and led the Rockets to a 14-0 district record.
Devante Mount – 5-10 Guard – Smithson Valley (2020)
- Mount was the second-leading scorer for the Rangers this past season as he put up 14.4 points per contest and shot 56% from the field. Explosive with the ball in his hands, Mount founds ways to get to the rim with ease and showed off his vertical with multiple fast-break dunks in his hudl tapes.
Kaden Gumbs Kaden Gumbs 6'2" | PG San Marcos | 2023 State TX – 6-0 Guard – San Marcos (2023)
- In his freshman season for the Rattlers Gumbs put up 14 points per game during district play. He showed up in key moments for San Marcos, has a good three-point shot, and finishes well at the rim on fast-break opportunities. Gumbs will be a player to watch moving forward.
Malik Presley – 6-4 Forward – San Marcos (2023)
- Another freshman standout for the Rattlers, Presley also averaged 14 points per game during district play. Dunks and strong finishes in the low post highlight his hudl tape and he has great length with room still to grow. Like Gumbs, Presley will be a player to watch for during his sophomore season.
