We will now dive deep into District 26-6A, which features high school programs: Canyon Cougars, Clemens Buffaloes, East Central Hornets, Judson Rockets, New Braunfels Unicorns, San Marcos Rattlers, Smithson Valley Rangers, and Steele Knights.

In this article, we turn our focus to the top deep-range shooters who nailed at least 36% from three-point territory this past season. Each of these sharpshooters attempted at least 130+ shots from beyond-the-arc and averaged over 1.5 makes per game.
Here are the top deep-range shooters from District 26-6A during the 2019-20 season:
Owen Woodard – 6-5 Forward – Smithson Valley (2020)
- Woodard’s average of 3.0 made threes per game led the district in 2019-20, with the senior hitting on 37% of his deep-range shots and nailing 96 total from beyond the arc. Woodard excelled as a catch and shoot player with a quick release and showed NBA range where he can make a shot from anywhere on the court.
Austin Kenwisher – 6-1 Guard – Smithson Valley (2020)
- Kenwisher’s high arcing shot was one of the best from deep in District 26, where he made 77 total threes and 2.8 per contest. Similar to his teammate Woodard, Kenwisher has a quick release and hit over 38% from the beyond the arc. Whether it was spot-up shots or creating something on his own, Kenwisher seemed to find the bottom of the net at a high rate and was a playmaker for the Rangers.
Eli Datesman – 6-3 Guard – New Braunfels (2020)
- Datesman was terrific from beyond the arc during his senior season, where he displayed limitless range and hit a district best 43% of his three-point shots. With 66 threes made, 2.1 per game, Datesman was a lethal sharpshooter from all over the court for the Unicorns.
Chris Benson – 6-2 Guard – Steele (2020)
- During his senior campaign, Benson hit 38% of his shots from deep and 52 total threes (1.6 per contest). A pure shooting guard, Benson displayed good rhythm in his shots when coming off screens or hitting open jumpers.
Jackson Byas – 6-3 Forward – Steele (2020)
- Byas nailed 49 threes during his senior season for the Knights, hitting 36% of his attempts from beyond the arc. Byas connected on shots from the top of the key and both wing spots, where he averaged 1.5 makes per game and excelled as pick and pop forward.
