Those same players must also be willing defenders on the opposite side of the ball as well. In this article, PH takes a look at some of the top wings in the c/o 2021.
- Will McClendon Will McClendon 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2021 State #42 Nation NV 6’3 Bishop Gorman (#3) – Love his ability to knock down clutch shots, however, he does not get enough credit for his defensive ability. McClendon is a crafty defender that can defend 1-3 with ease at the high school level.
- Glenn Taylor Glenn Taylor 6'5" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State #162 Nation AZ 6’5 SF Cheyenne (#4) – Could be the most slept on star in the state. Taylor is a cerebral talent that consistently makes the right play for his team. Good defender, however, it’s his offensive versatility that makes him stand out. Taylor is comfortable with the ball in his hands, as well as sprinting lanes and finishing in transition.
- Ethan Speaker Ethan Speaker 6'6" | SF Boulder City | 2021 State NV 6’6 Boulder City (#7) – Speaker did it all for Boulder city this season, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. People question him because he plays at a 3A school, however, he has the frame, athletic ability, and skill set to play D1 basketball.
- Dayshawn Wiley Dayshawn Wiley 6'4" | SG Desert Pines | 2021 State NV 6’3 Desert Pines (#8) – Wiley’s stock has been consistently rising all seasons. A terrific R&J athlete, Wiley has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the court.
- Jonathan Braggs Jonathan Braggs 6'3" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2021 State NV 6’3 Bishop Gorman (#10) – Really excited to watch Braggs next season. Its been a slow climb, however, Braggs just keeps improving every game. So much of his production is tied to his shooting, however, he does have the frame and skill set to be a dominant high school player.
- Cameron Kimble Cameron Kimble 6'4" | SG Clark | 2021 State NV 6’4 Clark (#11) – Kimble is a throwback player, that excels at creating his own mid-range shot. That isn’t to say he can’t step outside and knock down the occasional 3. He is almost the prototypical college wing, with his size and isolation scoring ability.
- Coleman Lemke Coleman Lemke 6'7" | PF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’7 Faith Lutheran (#30) – Every time I see Lemke, I ask him to make me look good. I’m high on his potential, and now is the time for consistent production from him. While his position is still a bit undefined, at 6’7 and rail-thin, he could certainly blossom into a quality wing at the college level.
- Matt Morton Matt Morton 6'5" | SF Boulder City | 2021 NV 6’5 Boulder City (#35) – Don’t sleep on Morton. While Speaker may get the headlines, Morton is a talented wing that also serves several roles for B.C. It’s not uncommon to see him battle for boards, or initiate the offense.
- Jalen Cunningham Jalen Cunningham 6'3" | SG Coronado | 2021 State NV 6’3 Foothill (#36) – Cunningham almost blurs the line between combo and wing. Physically he has an opposing frame that allows him to bully players on drives. However, he also posses a smooth looking shot and is one of the better returning 3 point shooters in the state.
- Jackson Williams Jackson Williams 6'2" | SF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV 6’2 Faith Lutheran (#39) – I know I have been on this Jackson Williams Jackson Williams 6'2" | SF Faith Lutheran | 2021 State NV kick lately, but I can’t fight the fact that I have been thoroughly impressed with what I’ve seen on film from the wing. He is never the primary option, however, the ball always seems to find his hands, and he delivers more times than not. One of the most versatile defenders in the state, Williams truly belongs on this list.
