Continue ReadingIt’s closing time in the 2020 recruiting cycle. With the 2019-20 season now complete, the pool of talent continues to dwindle as college programs work to put the finishing touches on their recruiting classes.
Here’s an in-depth look at the top available small forwards still on the board in Wisconsin…
Alex Antetokounmpo Alex Antetokounmpo 6'7" | SF Dominican | 2020 State WI – Dominican
This recruitment still has a lot of mystery behind it. Antetokounmpo picked up verbal scholarship offers from DePaul, Ohio, and UW-Green Bay. Who’s still involved here seems to be anyone’s guess.
Antetokounmpo had a tremendous senior season, posting 20.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while leading the Knights to a 20-4 overall record. A versatile, 6-foot-8 forward with a strong body and a budding perimeter skillset, Antetokounmpo isn’t quite as long, but has a similar makeup of two of his older brothers, Kostas and Thanasis, both of whom are in the NBA.
Jacksun Hamilton Jacksun Hamilton 6'7" | SF La Crosse Logan | 2020 State WI – La Crosse Logan
A prospect we touted up quite a bit since last spring, Hamilton backed it all up during his senior season. A fast-rising wing with terrific size (6-7) and athleticism, Hamilton averaged 19.8 points per game as a senior. A guy that came up as more of a forward, Hamilton began transitioning to the perimeter and showed some serious mismatch nightmare potential.
Hamilton has preferred to keep his recruitment close to the vest, but is definitely someone that could make a major impact at the Division 3/NAIA level if that’s where he lands.

Keonte Jones Keonte Jones 6'3" | SF Madison East | 2020 State WI – Madison East
Jones was the Big Eight Defensive Player of the Year this season. One of the best athletes still on the board, Jones (6-4) is an explosive prospect who thrives in transition and has the ability to make momentum-changing plays. He averaged 14.3 points and 3.5 assists per game as a senior.
Peyton Rogers-Schmidt Peyton Rogers-Schmidt 6'5" | SF Chippewa Falls | 2020 State WI – Chippewa Falls
Rogers-Schmidt capped off his career with a Big Rivers Conference title and led the Cardinals to a 19-6 overall record. Chippewa Falls also nearly upset Neenah in the sectional semifinals. He averaged 17.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game as a senior. One of the most improved prospects in the state, Rogers-Schmidt is a very athletic wing with terrific size (6-6) and still plenty of upside left at the next level.
Rogers-Schmidt listed Northern Michigan, Bemidji State, Southwest Minnesota State, Waldorf, Viterbo, and Midland College among those currently expressing interest. He also has a handful of Division 3 and junior college programs in the hunt for his services.
Elijah Lambert Elijah Lambert 6'4" | SF Racine St. Catherine's | 2020 State WI – Racine St. Catherine’s
This is arguably the best defender in the state. Lambert shut down some of the best prospects throughout his senior season. He also contributed 10.1 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds for the Angels, who went 25-0 and were the favorites to win the Division 3 state championship.
Lambert has Division 1 interest coming in from Tennessee-Martin. A number of Division 3 schools are also in contact, including UW-Stevens Point, Concordia (WI), UW-Whitewater, Snow College, MATC (Milwaukee), and Marian College.
James Randolph James Randolph 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa West | 2020 State WI – Hartford
A high-upside prospect who’s still just scratching the surface, Randolph averaged 10.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game as a senior. Randolph has ideal athleticism for the next level and is still a ball of clay ready to be molded. If skills catch up to his physical attributes, Randolph will burst through his high ceiling. The one thing schools can count on from Randolph is a blue collar work ethic under the rim. He’s always keeping plays alive and battling for second chance opportunities on the offensive glass.
