Douglas Byrd HS Junior Guard Marviere Smith: Battling with injuries throughout the year, we didn’t get to necessarily see him at full strength but he has shown that he has a chance to be special with his play over the summer. He understands how to get to his spots on the court and when he’s open ,he knocks down shots at a solid rate.
Village Christian Sophomore Guard Zy Mclean: This was a big year for him as he was called upon to step into a much larger role this year. Although he battled an ankle injury for a large amount of the season, he fought through it and was productive.
Cape Fear HS Freshman Guard Massaun Moore: A young talent that showed flashes of what he could be throughout the season, he will be a player that is called on much more next season. He has a nice natural feel for the game and does a nice job of balancing getting his offense going while facilitating for others.
Trinity Christian 2024 Guard Xavier Tubbs: On multiple occasions this season he stepped in and provided nice production. He gets off the floor quickly with ease and has nice athleticism for a player at such a young age. It’s always impressive to see a player his age, being able to make a nice contribution at such a young age.
