With these, we want to highlight 3 players who are similar in class and position. Get some time to dive into some quick thoughts, stat breakdowns, and film. Today, we are looking at 2021 Small Forward in Brian Waddell Brian Waddell 6'5" | SF Carmel | 2021 State IN , Khamani Smith Khamani Smith 6'5" | SF Fort Wayne Northrop | 2021 State IN , and Owen Dease Owen Dease 6'7" | SF Evansville Reitz | 2021 State IN .

– 6’5 SF 2021 – Carmel (IN)
Stats: 7.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg
Thoughts: Waddell is a tall, big wing that plays with a lot of power. Super athletic prospect that can shoot and get to the rim. He showed spurts this past season of breaking out and really putting it all together. His length and size make him tough to stop down low and he is an incredible rebounder. Needs to continue to get stronger and be a more consistent shooter but other than that, Waddell is one of the more gifted, athletically, 2021 prospects in the state.

– 6’5 SF 2021 – Fort Wayne Northrop (IN)
Stats: N/A
Thoughts: Smith is a long, athletic forward with some silky smoothness to his game. His skill-set has a lot of range to it and he plays with a lot of toughness. Although he is much better scoring off the catch, he did show signs of being a solid pull-up shooter as well this past season. At the next level, he will probably stick strictly to a 2G spot but for now the SF position is at his advantage. Also has the long body to be an elite defender. Smith is a very interesting prospect to keep an eye on to see just how good he gets.
Owen Dease

– 6’7 SF 2021 – Evansville Reitz (IN)
Stats: 10.0 ppg, 6.7 rpg
Thoughts: Dease is a long, lean forward that can the shoot lights out. This past season, he really started to take off and get more open looks behind the arc. Even stepped away from the 3-point line and got some contact at the rim.He uses his length and athleticism so well in the open floor and finish with a lot of creativity around the rim. Also is a pretty underrated rebounder as well. Overall, Dease is arguably the best shooter in the state with such a smooth touch. Once he gets stronger and more aggressive, he is going to be on the next level.
