Continue ReadingPrep Hoops has released its latest Kansas Class of 2022 rankings and the class is filled with several future Division I prospects, including a few who already hold offers.
The latest version includes 63 rising sophomores in the rankings — and several other prospects are currently being evaluated for the cut in the future.
15 to 8 Christian Bowen-Webb Christian Bowen-Webb 6'2" | CG Bishop Miege | 2022 State KS , 6’3, G, 2022, Bishop Miege. @22Cbuckets1
Bowen-Webbb is a talented combo guard who has terrific size, athleticism and the ability to create offense for himself and others as well as the ability to make smart, on-time passes. He can handle some point guard duties and has the ability to knock down outside shots or get to the basket off the bounce where he can finish with an array of runners and floaters.
UR to 7 Jordan Brown Jordan Brown 6'2" | SG St Francis | 2022 State GA , 6’4, G, 2022, Basehor-Linwood.
Brown was arguably our biggest mover in the latest rankings going from the unranked all the way to No. 7 overall. He is a talented shot creator who impresses with his competitiveness — he brings it every time down the court, on offense and is a hard-nosed competitor at the defensive end of the court. He has good size at 6’3 and a frame that could add good weight and size with age and has a well-rounded skill set, able to pull up from distance or attack the basket.
20 to 9 Tyrese Cannon Tyrese Cannon 6'3" | SF Leavenworth | 2022 KS , 6’3, G/F, 2022, Schlagle.
Cannon is a talented shooter with range for days and no fear in his game. He has a long, rangy frame and plays much bigger than his listed 6’3 height would suggest. He can handle the ball, is a good finisher and has the tools to be a good defender on the wing. His calling card however is his outside shooting abilities. When Cannon has things going for him at the offensive end of the court he can put up points in a hurry.
UR to 15 Jinwoo Kim Jinwoo Kim 6'1" | PG Blue Valley Southwest | 2022 State KS , 6’2, PG, 2022, Blue Valley Southwest
A rising point guard prospect with good size and a terrific feel for the game. Kim can handle pressure in the back court and plays much bigger than his listed 6’2 height would suggest, allowing him to rebound, defend on the wing and attack the basket. He is a terrific shooter from distance and is a crafty ball handler who can create his own shot off the bounce.
33 to 25 Cooper Whitley, 5’11, PG, 2022, Olathe South. @Cooperwhitley_6
Whitley was a big part of a deep backcourt at Olathe South and showed off the ability to play both on and off the ball this past season. He is best known for his outside shooting touch, but is a strong ball handler with a natural feel for the game.
