#20 Cam Edmonds Cam Edmonds 6'2" | CG Western Branch | 2021 State VA | 6’2” | Western Branch (#63 Overall)
Edmonds was a breakout guy for a young Branch team that has a bright future if they stick together. The 6’2” combo guard plays with a grit you love, he brings toughness to both ends of the floor and his motor never stops. He’s a guy who can make shots and get to the cup but he’ll also rebound, defend and hold his teammates accountable as well.
#19 Ricky Goode-Wright Ricky Goode-Wright 5'10" | PG James Monroe | 2021 State VA | 5’10” | James Monroe (#62 Overall)
Goode-Wright continues to show he’s one of the more offensively gifted guards in the Fredericksburg area as he averaged over 20 points per game this year. He’s a smooth guard with range off the bounce, he finishes well in the midrange and among the trees and he finds his way to the line as well. He’s already broke the JM scoring record sitting at 1,250 for his career.
#18 Grayson Honaker Grayson Honaker 6'0" | CG Hargrave | 2021 State VA | 6’0” | Honaker (#59 Overall)
Honaker doesn’t play in the biggest area but over the past few seasons he’s put up big numbers and was the best scorer in the 276 this year after averaging just under 30 points per game. He’s a high level shooter who hit 17 three-pointers in a game this year, he’s able to create his own shot off the bounce and he’s a good rebounder for his size averaging over 10 rebounds per game this year. He’ll have a chance to break many records and no matter where he plays it’s very impressive to score it like that.
#17 Tekao Carpenter Tekao Carpenter 6'1" | PG TC Williams | 2020 MD | 6’2” | TC Williams (#52 Overall)
Carpenter is one of the most underrated players in the DMV area and while he doesn’t play in the WCAC or any of the other big private school conferences he’s a guy who college coaches will be very impressed with. He has good size at the point guard position and he thrives when he can push it in transition and get downhill where he can make plays for others or finish through traffic with both hands. He’s a guy who can score from multiple levels and has good feel on both ends where he uses his IQ to make plays.
#16 Jacob Cooper Jacob Cooper 5'9" | PG Green Run | 2021 State VA | 5’9” | Green Run (#46 Overall)
The Beach District POY was a big reason in Green Run’s state championship run as he was the straw that stirred the drink for the Stallions. The 5’9” lead guard isn’t the biggest guy on the court but he’s a natural leader and floor general, he can score when he needs to and he refuses to back down from anyone he’s matched up with. He can shoot it and is very crafty but his overall feel for the game and ability to run a team is what is most impressive.
#15 Kobe Jerome Kobe Jerome 6'3" | CG Blue Ridge | 2021 State VA | 6’3” | Blue Ridge (#38 Overall)
Jerome joined an already stacked Blue Ridge team and was the perfect glue guy that fit in perfectly with this group. With two other scorers in the backcourt, Jerome did a great job of simply making the right play on both ends, making shots when it mattered and he showed terrific vision and passing ability with both hands. He’s a very cerebral player who makes winning plays on both ends and can shoot the rock from deep as well.
#14 Christian Moore Christian Moore 6'1" | CG Cape Henry | 2021 State VA | 6’1” | Cape Henry (#37 Overall)
Moore is a guy that high academic schools should be all over as not only is he smart on and off the court, he’s tough as well. The combo guard is a guy who can flat out score it as he has deep range both off the catch and off the bounce, he’s got a great midrange package and he’s deceptively strong and crafty around the basket. He can fill it up in bunches and did so against some very good teams this year.
#13 Tyshun Bryant Tyshun Bryant 6'3" | CG Miller School | 2021 State VA | 6’3” | Miller School (#35 Overall)
“TK” as he’s known by teammates and coaches didn’t have the smoothest year at Miller as nagging leg injuries kept him out for most of the season, but if he comes back healthy next year he’ll make a big impact. A combo guard with good size and good feel, he has a competitive chip about him on both ends and he knows the game very well. He plays with a good motor, is a natural born leader and gets after it on both ends.
#12 Zion Russell Zion Russell 6'0" | PG Hargrave | 2022 VA | 6’0” | Hargrave (#33 Overall)
Russell transferred midseason to Hargrave from Maryland and immediately impressed coaches with his unreal athletic ability. At 6’0”, Russell is a guy who flat out flies whether it’s coming out of nowhere for a put back dunk, catching a lob in transition or chasing someone down to contest a shot against a bigger defender. He’s a guy who can also create his own shot and he shoots it at a high clip from deep as well.
#11 Elvin Edmonds Elvin Edmonds 6'2" | CG Hopewell | 2021 State VA | 6’2” | Hopewell (#30 Overall)
Another guy that high academic schools should be all over, Edmonds has put together a very impressive career at Hopewell and it doesn’t make much sense to me that he doesn’t have more going on recruitment wise. The 6’2” combo guard sports over a 4.0 in the classroom and he’s very smart on the court as well, making good reads and using his understanding of the game to create shots and get to the line. He’s a big time shooter from deep and he’s deceptively strong with the ball when attacking the rim.
