#20 LaSean Lee LaSean Lee 6'6" | PF Norview | 2021 State VA | 6’7” | Norview (#56 Overall)
Lee didn’t play this past season due to a leg injury but he showed over his sophomore season and the summer after that he’s a very talented big man. He’s a throwback style guy who is a technician on the block with good hands and good feet, good touch around the basket and out to 15 feet and he’s a good passer in the post as well. If he can get healthy he should have a big senior season with Norview losing 3 of their top 4 scorers next year.
#19 Jayson Fain Jayson Fain 6'5" | PF Carlisle | 2021 State VA | 6’5” | Carlisle (#55 Overall)
Fain is an intriguing prospect from the Martinsville area that is very versatile at his size and has tools that should bold well for him moving forward. He’s long and athletic, he can handle the basketball in transition and get downhill where he can finish above the rim and he can shoot the basketball from multiple levels as well. He’s a good rebounder and can guard multiple positions as well.
#18 Evan Castellanos Evan Castellanos 6'6" | PF Hermitage | 2021 State VA | 6’5” | Hermitage (#54 Overall)
Castellanos quietly had a very good year at Hermitage and is probably one of the most underrated players in the area. He isn’t an old school bruising big, but instead he’s a finesse guy with good size that can play inside-out and fill it up when he gets it going. He’s a guy who can shoot it from multiple levels, he can hit the fadeaway when contested and he’s a guy who has good footwork and good counters to his moves as well.
#17 Tyrell Harris Tyrell Harris 6'6" | PF Potomac | 2021 State VA | 6’6” | Potomac (#50 Overall)
Another under the radar recruit who coaches should take a look at, Harris was phenomenal all year winning District and Regional POY. At 6’6”, he’s a long and versatile guy that plays with a good motor and is a walking mismatch with his ability to score in a number of ways. He hits the glass hard on both ends, he can stretch the floor and make shots and attack closeouts and he can guard in the post and on the perimeter as well.
#16 Jack Jensen Jack Jensen 6'8" | C Paul VI | 2021 State VA | 6’8” | Paul VI (#49 Overall)
Jensen was a guy who started on the bench for PVI this year but worked his way into the starting lineup and was a big impact on the way to them winning the state championship. Jensen, who’s bother Ben plays at Army, is a high academic and high motor big man that doesn’t need plays to be ran for him to be successful. He competes on both ends, he isn’t afraid to do the dirty work for his team and can run the floor and has good hands and soft touch around the basket.
#15 Cade Looney Cade Looney 6'8" | C Grundy | 2021 State VA | 6’8” | Grundy (#47 Overall)
One of the best prospects in the 276, Looney is a hidden gem that absolutely dominated the SWVA competition on the way to being named First Team All State. The 6’8” big man plays with a motor and has a good skill set that includes multiple post moves, the ability to stretch the floor and the ability to dominate in the paint on both ends of the floor.
#14 George Wilson George Wilson 6'5" | PF Green Run | 2021 VA | 6’5” | Green Run (#44 Overall)
Wilson is a next level prospect in two sports as he’s a highly coveted speed rusher on the football field as well. He plays with that same mentality on the court as he’s a gritty forward that plays hard on both ends and will outplay guys that are much taller than him in the paint. He’s a tremendous athlete that uses his strength and hard nosed style to do the dirty work.
#13 Will Henderson | 6’9” | Life Christian (#42 Overall)
Henderson is a very intriguing prospect that has the possibility to sky through the rankings if he can continue to show improved production. He seems to get taller every time I see him as he’s pushing 6’10” now, he has great perimeter skills as a guy who can shoot it and get to his spots for the pull up and he’s athletic enough to run the floor and finish way above the rim as well. He’s come a long way and just needs to continue to put it together.
#12 Caleb Kenney Caleb Kenney 6'6" | PF Douglas Freeman | 2021 State VA | 6’6” | Douglas Freeman (#40 Overall)
Kenney is one of the best prospects I’ve seen in my five years to come out of Douglas Freeman and he’s also a tremendous kid as well. He’s a high academic student that sports a GPA of 4.1 and is in the Center for Leadership, and he was named All Region after finishing the season averaging a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. He’s a versatile lefty that’s long and bouncy and uses his athleticism on both ends, he can handle in transition and work in isolations and he can stretch the floor as well.
#11 Matt Nunez Matt Nunez 6'11" | C Hargrave | 2022 VA | 6’10” | Walsingham (#34 Overall)
Nunez is a guy that coaches are starting to take a look at in 2021 and also has rumors about him going to the 2022 class as well. He’s also a high academic and high character kid that has great physical features and a soft touch in the paint to go with it. He’s a back to the basket type of guy who can also step out and shoot the midrange as he’s exhibited soft touch and improved foot work over his high school career.
