If that happens, there will be contest taking place on the Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, and Prep Hoops Circuits. Many of the Boot’s best players will be showcased on these teams while others will not. In this article, In part one we will look at five of Louisiana’s best players who would benefit from running with one of the teams on “the Circuit”.
Delatrion Moton Delatrion Moton 6'4" | CG Woodlawn-Shreve | 2021 State LA | 6’4″ | 2021 – While Moton has played on the Adidas and Nike circuits in the past, it appears that he could be in search for a team this summer. He is one of the smartest basketball players I have seen and he is also one of the best preps when the chips are down. Playing against other guards and wings his size would be a perfect test for him before his senior season. If he proves his game translates well against them, I believe his recruitment will pick up tremendously.
Devonte Austin Devonte Austin 6'0" | CG Wossman | 2021 State LA | 6’0″ | 2021 – Austin is one of the more athletic guards that Louisiana has. Playing on the circuit would benefit him greatly so coaches can see that athleticism first hand. At Wossman, he plays on a battle tested team so there is nothing he has not seen. Austin has improved his jumper and is deadly getting to the cup. The experience of playing against players with equal athleticism will give him the tools needed to enhance his game and enhance his exposure with various schools.
Jaden Shelvin Jaden Shelvin 6'2" | CG St. Thomas More | 2021 State LA | 6’2″ | 2021 – Shelvin is a very accomplished player on the high school level. He is a multiple time state champion and all state player. What Jaden would bring to a team on one of the circuits is his defensive intensity and his willingness to make plays. He does what the team needs to win. With his length and skill set, a team on the circuit can showcase his versatilty and win at the same time. It would be a win-win for Shelvin and the circuit team that allows him to suit up.
Nehemiah Johnson Nehemiah Johnson 6'5" | PF Parkview Baptist | 2021 State LA | 6’5″ | 2021 – A player that would have a chance to turn some heads on the circuit would be Nehemiah Johnson Nehemiah Johnson 6'5" | PF Parkview Baptist | 2021 State LA . He is a long and athletic player who had been expanding him game with Parkview Baptist. While he would not be a primary option playing with such a team, his athleticism is eye-catching. Johnson can block shots on defense and change quickly to offense in a moments notice. He is also learning to shoot the 3 consistently. With the proper training and the right opportunity, Johnson could turn some heads on the circuit.
Keshaun Lazard Keshaun Lazard 6'1" | CG Northwest | 2021 State LA | 6’2″ | 2021 – Even though Lazard plays wide receiver at Northwest, he can hoop as well. He is one of the better two way players in the Acadiana area and can do a number of things well. Shooting the three and playing high level man-to-man defense are his calling cards. Lazard can also drive to the basket well. His height might be an issue for some but his toughness on the court may win them over. For a circuit team looking for a solid defender who can knockdown a three, Lazard could be their guy.
The tennis shoe and company travel circuits mentioned at the top are some of the best in the country. Playing in those games can be a springboard into a different air of recruiting for some. Other players who already have a buzz can cement their stature. One thing is for sure, these five players can benefit themselves, and others, if they get onto one of the travel teams playing within one of these circuits.
