Brenton Knapper Brenton Knapper 6'0" | PG Colony | 2021 State #136 Nation CA-S , Colony – The quick, strong and bouncy 6-footer thrives when making plays for himself or teammates in transition. He pushes the pace with purpose and control, stays under control under pressure, and can finish around the basket with finesse or above the rim with authority.
Chris Howell Chris Howell 6'6" | PG Torrey Pines | 2021 State #205 Nation CA-S , Torrey Pines – Perhaps the best passer in this class, the 6-foot-7 Howell embodies unselfishness and a team-first attitude. He can break a press with the handle or the pass, is always looking to advance the ball up the floor and makes the simple, but high IQ basketball play. What sets Howell apart from other point guards in this group is his size and how he uses it to impact the defensive side of the floor.
Houston Mallette Houston Mallette 6'4" | PG Pacifica Christian | 2021 State #201 Nation CA-S , Pacifica Christian/OC – Mallette is a big-game type of player who saves his best performances for when they matter the most. The 6-foot-4, high-energy leader is a clutch shot-maker off the bounce from the three-point and mid-range levels and really did a nice job this past season of managing the clock and knowing when to take advantage of transition opportunities or pull the ball out and run offense.
Lamaj Lewis Lamaj Lewis 6'4" | PG St. John Bosco | 2021 State #236 Nation CA-S , St. John Bosco – We really enjoy watching Lewis play because he remains so poised in high pressure situations. The 6-foot-3 PG is a willing and capable passer who balances running offense and pushing the break. Lewis uses his length and creativity with the ball to get into the lane where he can finish at a high rate.
Wayne McKinney Wayne McKinney 5'10" | PG Coronado | 2021 State CA-S , Coronado – McKinney might be the most explosive scoring point guard in SoCal’s 2021 class. His strength, combined with his speed and ability to stay on balance through contact, allow him to finish much bigger than his size. McKinney is also a consistent perimeter shot maker off the bounce who can stop on a dime, rise and fire from the three-point and mid-range levels.
Jaden Byers Jaden Byers 6'1" | PG Rancho Christian | 2021 State CA-S , Rancho Christian – Byers has seen growth spurts in both his frame and his game. Now 6-foot-2, the explosive athlete who is a dynamic playmaker in transition, started to use his quickness and athleticism in the half-court to create for himself and others. Byers has a ton of potential if he can consistently knock down three-point shots.
Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'0" | PG Lynwood | 2021 State CA-S , Lynwood – Johnson had a strong campaign for the Knights, acting as a reliable ball handler, decision-maker and shot-maker from three-point range. the 6-foot-1 lead guard did a nice job of getting into the lane in transition, drawing defenders and hitting open teammates.
