The class was already solid thanks to the likes of Chandler Jackson, Reggie Bass, B.J. Edwards and Brandon Miller. Adding Clark to the mix makes the top five very attractive.
So, while people are still stuck at home, let’s take a look at 10 of the best players in the 2022 class (in no specific order).
Skyy Clark, Brentwood Academy: The 6-foot-2 combo guard spent his sophomore season at Heritage Christian and will spend his junior season at Brentwood Academy. Clark currently holds 16 Division 1 offers.
B.J. Edwards, Knoxville Catholic: Edwards is coming off a solid sophomore season averaging 19.3 points, six assists and three steals per game, while shooting 56.4 percent from the field. He led the Fighting Irish to a Division II-AA Boys State Championship. Edwards currently holds offers from Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Georgetown and South Carolina. Cincinnati is showing interest.
Quant’e Berry, Bradley Central: Berry has been racking up offers as well. The 6-foot-4 point guard holds offers from Vanderbilt, East Tennessee State, Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Rhode Island. Berry is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 19.4 points per game.
Chandler Jackson, Christian Brothers: Jackson averaged 18.6 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block per game this past season for the Purple Wave. He made 52 percent of his shots from the field. As far as Jackson’s recruitment is concerned, he holds offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Vanderbilt and TCU. Florida State and Memphis are recruiting Jackson as well.
Reggie Bass, Hamilton Heights Christian Academy: The 6-4 shooting guard averaged seven points and three assists per game for the Hawks. Bass makes great decisions with the basketball and is tough to guard when he’s downhill. He currently holds offers from Florida and Texas Tech.
Felix Okpara, Hamilton Heights Christian Academy: The 6-11 big man emerged as a solid scoring option for the Hawks once forward Bayron Matos left the team. Okpara averaged 8.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game. He holds offers from Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Mississippi State and San Diego State.
Amarr Knox, Memphis Central: Knox made a lot of noise during the 2019 season. He made his name by the way he scores the basketball. Knox looks to attack the lane on every possession. For the 2019 season, he averaged 17.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Daniel Egbuniwe, FACS: Egbuniwe is still being slept on by a lot of people, but the 6-6 forward has a lot of upside. He can handle the ball, rebound the ball and block shots at the rim. Egbuniwe averaged 14.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.7 blocks and 1.6 steals per game for the Crusaders. He picked up his first Division 1 offer following the season from Tennessee State University. This is only the beginning for Egbuniwe.
Braeden Moore, CPA: The 6-8 forward averaged 15 points, 7.1 rebounds, one steal and 0.9 blocks per game for the Lions in 2019. Moore can shoot the ball very well. He made 38.4 percent of his 3-point attempts last season. Moore takes a lot of great shots. He makes the most of his scoring opportunities.
Brandon Miller, Cane Ridge: Miller averaged 20.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and two blocks per game in 2019. He made 46 percent of his shots from the field and went 84 percent from the free throw line. The 6-6 small forward had his way most nights against defenders. Miller holds offers from Ole Miss and Tennessee.
